Sales Engineer – Equals Money

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to join Equals Money and help deliver exceptional technical expertise throughout our sales process. This is a key position that bridges our commercial and technical teams, ensuring prospective and existing customers clearly understand the value, capabilities, and integrations of our Platform-as-a-Service offering.

The Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the sales cycle from discovery through to contract, providing technical insight, solution design, and hands-on demonstration of Equals’ APIs and services.

Who you are

  • You have a customer-first mindset, with a passion for technology and a knack for simplifying complex ideas.

  • You’re comfortable working with API-driven financial products and can communicate effectively with both developers and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You enjoy working with large enterprise clients, translating their technical and commercial requirements into well-scoped, achievable solutions.

  • You thrive on collaboration, working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Implementation teams to design scalable and secure solutions.

  • Experience in B2B payments, card issuing, or embedded finance is a plus, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sales team throughout the pre-sales process to design and present tailored technical solutions that meet customer needs.

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects — particularly large enterprise customers — to understand their systems, compliance requirements, and integration goals.

  • Solutionise and architect technical designs, ensuring proposed integrations are scalable, compliant, and aligned with Equals’ product capabilities.

  • Formulate and document Statements of Work (SoWs) as part of the sales process, clearly outlining deliverables, scope, and implementation assumptions.

  • Support large RFP (Request for Proposal) and due diligence processes, providing detailed technical input and responses that accurately reflect Equals’ offering.

  • Demonstrate Equals’ platform capabilities through live demos, sandbox testing, and API walkthroughs.

  • Translate customer requirements into clear technical recommendations, integration outlines, and solution documentation.

  • Work closely with Product and Implementation teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to onboarding, maintaining continuity for the customer.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales engineering processes, demo environments, and supporting materials.

  • Collect and share product feedback from customers and prospects to help shape product development priorities.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Consultant in a SaaS or API-based environment.

  • Demonstrated success working with enterprise clients to design and deliver complex technical solutions.

  • Strong experience solutionising API-driven integrations, using tools like Postman, CURL, or Swagger.

  • Ability to formulate Statements of Work (SoWs) and scope documentation with precision and clarity.

  • Experience supporting RFPs and due diligence processes with detailed, accurate technical input.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — confident leading technical workshops and executive-level discussions.

  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear business and technical narratives.

  • Knowledge of payments, fintech APIs, or card issuing is desirable, but not required.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in collaboration with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary benchmarked annually.

  • Contributory pension.

  • Life assurance.

  • Health insurance through BUPA.

  • Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 confidential support).

  • 25 days annual leave plus your birthday off.

  • Cycle to work scheme and Season Ticket Loan.

  • Free onsite Nuffield Health gym & pool (London) or discounted membership elsewhere.

  • Interbank currency rates on travel money and international transfers.

  • Opportunities for progression, learning, and development.
