Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team in Peterborough.

Are you a technically skilled engineer with a customer-focused mindset? As a Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in driving business growth through your technical expertise.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies by understanding customer needs, decision processes, timelines, and competitors.
  • Review and respond to leads from various sources, creating technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure proposals are technically solid and financially accurate.
  • Support key accounts and follow up on enquiries to maximize success.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships, providing expert technical support.
  • Gather market insights, customer feedback, and competitor information to inform strategies.
  • Keep the CRM system updated for sales reporting and forecasting.
  • Follow health and safety policies, demonstrating company values.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Hands-on engineering background, preferably in mechanical engineering.
  • Problem-solver who enjoys finding solutions in grey areas.
  • Capable of building rapport and comfortable meeting new people.
  • Able to explain engineering problems clearly and simply.
  • Good PC skills, quick to learn new programs and databases.
  • Willing to travel within the UK and overseas for customer visits and exhibitions.
  • Background in assembly, fitting, project management, or similar roles requiring engineering knowledge and customer service.
