The Team
Context : Launch in infectiology (Antifungal) / Promotion of 1 biosimilar (Oncology)
The Sales Director is responsible for leading 10 local Key Account Managers’ (KAM) team, by defining and executing the sales strategy aligned with global strategy and exercising control over resources, Sales Force budgets and expenses.
He or she will work with and supervise the KAM team to grow new business opportunities and drive profitable revenue growth through designing and setting the strategic plans for the region, rigorous customer engagement, and ongoing development of team members.
This role also requires managing the Sales force sizing, structure, and territory design for brands in promotion and monitor field activity to ensure balanced workloads, as well as driving the design and implementation of the local incentive program aligned with the Global Sales Incentive Program (GSIP).
As part of the France Commercial Team, the Sales Director will work collaboratively with the France Country Lead and functional leaders to ensure that short and long-term sales goals are reached.
Role and Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of the company’s sales objectives, designing and setting the strategic engagement plan aligned with the global Commercial Excellence strategy, coordinating sales distribution by establishing territories, quotas and goals, and effectively coaching and motivating the sales force team, to grow and develop the national sales revenues. Analyze market conditions and trends, develop long term strategies, and provide recommendations to the Country Lead France.

Responsible for recruiting, training, and development of KAM team, in close collaboration with HR. Guide KAM team in being accountable for sales results and successful performance, while creating an inclusive environment of high performance and integrity, conducive to continued development. Consistently develop and promote collaboration and teamwork. Act as a visible role model for values and culture.

Ensure the sales force is duly trained on internal compliance procedures and standards as well as on the Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Good Practices and other industry-related legislation.

Design, implement and maintain the Local Sales Incentive Program aligned with the GSIP by creating an annual compensation plan for the sales force that incorporate KPIs, accelerators and bonus programs to achieve the desired sales objectives.

Ensure transparency in target setting methodologies with the field force through training and communications. Provide expert level training and assistance when needed.

Process information and data to create reports on activities, trends, and projections regarding incentive plan performance, efficiencies, and possible improvements.

Effectively establish and manage the department’s budget and promotional budget allocation process, aligned to planned promotional activities, to maximize return on promotional spend.

Collaborate with France Country Lead and Omnichannel Excellence in forecasting of sales objectives, ensuring realistic and achievable projections. Establish individual and team performance targets that align with overall business goals. In partnership with Finance and Omnichannel Excellence, develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, that aligns with market penetration strategy.

Ultimate responsibility for ensuring accurate management of the CRM system by the KAM team.

Enhance and improve coordination, collaboration and communication among the Customer Engagement Execution Unit and cross-functionally to drive the commercial excellence.

Provide strategic input to the Marketing Manager and Omnichannel Excellence Manager for development and continued evolution of the customer engagement and omnichannel plan as well as KAM-related customer resources.

Serve as key interface with France Country Lead and cross-functional partners across the organization.
What you’ll bring

Experience in pharmaceutical Sales Management

Experience of direct people leadership/management

Cross-functional business leadership experience within sales or marketing.

Ideally have experience in Incentive Program design

Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business field

Highly accountable with the ability to lead and motivate a team

Strong communication skills.

Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, drug prescription process and prescription drugs distribution process in France with demonstrated ability to work in multiple therapeutic areas and apply learnings to new, innovative areas.

Strong analytical, consulting, and business planning skills. Proven ability to manage budgets and incentive programs. Strategic and commercial acumen.

Business relationship management skills – working with cross functional teams & stakeholders without positional authority while building trust and evoke influence

Good knowledge and practical experience in new technologies and digital channels.
