The role / impact

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Xero, you will be responsible for generating and qualifying leads through both outbound and inbound prospecting efforts. Your work will directly generate demand for Xero's platform and solutions by making outbound dials each day to accountants and bookkeepers. Success means achieving and exceeding monthly and quarterly quotas , with high productivity and excellent call quality , ultimately translating into new active or potential partners for the sales team.

You will utilise multiple channels, including phone, email, and social media, to reach prospects and conduct research to identify key decision-makers. This role is vital for driving sales growth and helping small businesses be more efficient.

The team & how they connect

The Sales Development team is goal-motivated, driven by the outcomes of their efforts and the metrics of success. The team collaborates closely to develop and refine the lead generation strategy. Members work together to ensure a smooth handover of qualified leads to the Account Executives and maintain clear, up-to-date records in the CRM for tracking and analysis.

Initially, the role may focus on

  • Making daily outbound dials to accountants and bookkeepers to generate qualified leads.

  • Utilising phone, email, and social media channels for reaching prospects.

  • Maintaining accurate records of all prospecting activities and tracking progress in our CRM system (Salesforce).

  • Qualifying inbound leads and routing them to the appropriate sales representative.

This is a hybrid role; 3 days of the week in our Milton Keynes office.
