Location: London — Hybrid (3 days per week at 8 Devonshire Square, EC2M 4YJ) (Safi | Trade recyclables the smart way)

About Safi

Safi is building the world’s first AI‑powered global marketplace for trading recycled plastics, paper and metals. In November 2023 we secured a US $19.5 million Series A led by Nosara Capital, Lowercarbon and Transition to accelerate our expansion (Safi | Trade recyclables the smart way). In just twelve months we’ve grown annualised GMV from zero to more than US $40 million while serving buyers and sellers in 15+ countries (Safi | Trade recyclables the smart way). Our mission is simple but urgent: increase recycling rates and cut our reliance on virgin materials.

About the Role

As Safi's Sales Development Representative, you’ll be the first human touchpoint for many future Safi customers, to create qualified pipeline and fuel our next phase of growth. Expect plenty of autonomy, fast feedback loops and a direct line of sight to the company’s climate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outbound prospecting: research Materials Recovery Facilities, recyclers, and manufacturers, craft multi‑channel outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp), and book high‑quality meetings.

  • Inbound qualification: respond quickly to platform sign‑ups and marketing leads, run short discovery calls, and route prospects appropriately.

  • Account strategy: partner with Account Executives to build territory plans, share intent data, and iterate messaging.

  • Data‑driven execution: track activity and opportunity data in HubSpot; provide weekly pipeline forecasts and insights.

  • Market feedback loop: capture common objections, product ideas and competitive intel, sharing them with Product and Marketing.

  • Target ownership: consistently hit monthly quotas for meetings set and sales‑qualified opportunities created.

What you’ll bring

  • New to the market or 1–2 years’ SDR / new‑business experience in B2B tech, marketplaces or supply‑chain solutions.

  • Confident cold‑caller who enjoys speaking with operational and procurement leaders.

  • Clear, concise communicator with excellent written English (UK spelling essential).

  • Comfortable with HubSpot (or similar CRM) and prospecting tools such as Lusha or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

Behavioural traits we value:

  • Adaptability and curiosity: You embrace change and love learning.

  • Coachability: You act on feedback quickly.

  • Drive and resilience: You thrive on targets and bounce back from setbacks.

  • Process orientation: You follow, test and improve playbooks.

  • Team spirit: You share best practices and celebrate wins together.

  • Existing right to work in the UK and the ability to commute to the London office several times a week.

What success looks like after six months

  • You consistently exceed KPIs and monthly sales accepted lead (SAL) targets.

  • AEs credit you with building at least 50 % of their qualified pipeline.

  • Your outreach cadences have industry‑leading open, reply and conversion rates.

  • Product teams act on your structured customer feedback.

  • Safi extends your contract or offers you a permanent role.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary, with attractive equity options

  • 26 days annual leave (+ all national holidays up to a max of 34 per year) - the national holidays are flexible, so you can take them whenever suits!

  • Regular team socials and meals

  • Personal wellness and development budget

Diversity & inclusion

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation, age or any other protected characteristic. If you require reasonable adjustments at any stage, please let us know.
