Equifax is where you can power your possible. If you want to achieve your true potential, chart new paths, develop new skills, collaborate with bright minds,  and make a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for a proactive, collaborative and knowledgeable Sales Consultant to support our business growth by partnering with public sector clients to solve their most critical challenges. Focusing mostly on central government (including departments like the DWP, HMRC and Companies House), you will help them to:

  • Reduce fraud, error and debt.

  • Achieve their efficiency targets.

  • Improve their return on investment on data analytics and technology.

You will be a good listener who can adapt your communication to support different stakeholders effectively. You will be able to explain technical concepts to data analysts and digital transformation leaders, to show commercial value to Finance directors, and help resolve operational challenges for Heads of Fraud, Error, and Debt.

What You’ll Do

  • Become a trusted advisor to clients and the primary point of contact for all solution sales activities. Your focus will be on helping clients identify their core problems then understand how our data analytics, products and platforms can solve them. You will help them get maximum value from our solutions to grow our partnership.

  • Navigate complex stakeholder maps, building consensus and tailoring your approach to senior leaders and to technical, operational, and commercial functions.

  • Create, present and validate use cases, demos, and pilots that showcase how our solutions offer the clients value.

  • Lead work with clients to co-create roadmaps which use our solutions to help deliver their strategy.

  • Develop clear and effective solution proposals and work with the account management teams to design, pitch and close tenders and deals.

  • Use your expertise and industry insight to challenge clients in a constructive way to help innovate and keep pace with best practice.

  • Provide guidance prior to and during the sales process in areas such as technical requirements, data interpretation, and solution configuration.

  • Collaborate with our clients, our partners and our Sales, Product, Data Analytics and Technology teams to help design and deliver solutions that solve clients’ problems.

What Experience You Need

We know that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for roles unless they meet every single requirement. If you have experience in most of these areas, we would love to hear from you.

  • You have the experience you need to operate independently and provide informal leadership and support to others.

  • Success in business development and technical sales, with a track record of delivering complex deals in the public sector, ideally with central government in the UK.

  • Proven ability to engage, connect, and build trust with a range of senior public sector stakeholders, for example across data analytics, technology, finance, and fraud and debt functions. You can sell in a consultative way.

  • Using critical thinking skills to collaborate with others to solve complex problems in creative ways.

  • Experience analysing data and turning technical insights into action plans for technical and non-technical buyers.

  • Working to hit a sales target.

  • Understanding of the government’s procurement processes, frameworks and compliance requirements.

What Could Set You Apart

  • Experience working within the UK public sector, for example in roles related to fraud, error, and debt, or in a finance or technology function.

  • Success in a UK public sector consultancy sales role.

  • An established network of contacts across the UK public sector.

  • Experience working with credit reference agency data.
