Job Responsibilities:

The Safety/Ergonomic Coordinator is responsible for assessing, designing, and implementing ergonomic solutions to improve workplace safety, comfort, and productivity. This role involves analyzing workstations, tasks, and workflows to identify ergonomic risks and recommending modifications to reduce injury and enhance employee well-being. The specialist collaborates with management and employees to develop ergonomic improvements.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations, tools, and processes across various departments.
  • Identify ergonomic hazards and develop tailored solutions to mitigate risks, including workstation adjustments, equipment modifications, and ergonomic training.
  • Collaborate with safety, health, and operations teams to implement ergonomic improvements.
  • Develop and deliver ergonomic training programs to educate employees on proper workstation setup, posture, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain documentation of ergonomic assessments, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ergonomic interventions and make adjustments as needed.
  • Stay current with ergonomic standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., OSHA, ANSI).
  • Assist in the development and review of safety policies related to ergonomics. Support incident investigations related to musculoskeletal disorders and ability to recommend preventative measures.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement regarding ergonomic practices.
  • Assists in development and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions and standards.
  • Understands Magna Mirrors Holland’s quality policy and assures compliance with ISO/IATF systems.
  • Responsible for setting up and conducting regular monthly Ergonomics Committee Meetings. 
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) with demonstrated understanding of Ergonomics; or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with computerized application software.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external contacts when performing job duties.
  • Analytical skills to identify ergonomic risks and develop effective solutions
  • Strong knowledge of ergonomic principles, standards, and best practices Ability to perform ergonomic assessments and utilize ergonomic evaluation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills for training and collaborating with diverse teams
