WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The candidate will be the testing point person for performance Running projects based out of our London Headquarters. They will be working with the Nike Running Footwear product creation team including design, development, engineering and product marketing, to test new innovative footwear. They will work with Runners of all levels, to gain a better understanding of their needs and to capture their feedback. The candidate will work collaboratively with Nike WHQ based Running FPT Analysts, while reporting to the London Manager of Footwear Product Testing.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a resourceful and curious active learner who is an excellent communicator and has a passion for creating world class Running footwear to join our team as a Footwear Product Testing Analyst II based at our London Headquarters. This role ensures that Nike Running footwear fits, feels, and performs up to the highest standards. The candidate needs to have a strong connection to the European Running community.  The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills focused on developing Athlete* tester, coach and Running retail relationships. They need exceptional planning skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects are a must. The candidate needs to be able to analyse data, identify trends and opportunities as well as present feedback to cross functional teams in the pursuit of product excellence.  The candidate needs to have prior experience working with Microsoft Office programs, as well as strong verbal, written and proactive communication skills. They need an entrepreneurial spirit because being in an FPT HUB location (London) is like starting and running your own business.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or minimum 2 additional years' relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

  • 2 years' experience in a professional working environment. Experience in the footwear, product testing, development, marketing, engineering, retail, athletic or customer service industry is preferred.

  • Passion for Running, and prior experience working with runners, coaches, run clubs, retailers and universities

  • Understanding of footwear components, materials, and product creation processes is a definite plus.

  • Able to physically lift and carry large amounts of testing product.

  • Must have a clean driver’s license as the role will require frequent visits (up to 80% of time) domestically for meeting with athletes and testers.

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the year.

  • Ability to work odd hours when applicable for interacting with athletes/external partners and internal teammates at Nike’s World Headquarters.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

In this role, you’ll be managing all aspects of the testing process; including planning, recruiting testers, conducting tests, analysing data, report writing, delivering results and program/relationship management. You’ll use your understanding of footwear’s manufacturing processes combined with your understanding of the athlete to offer suggestions to the product team regarding material, component, and construction options to meet the product’s performance goals. You’ll specify the performance issues that need attention prior to product going to production, by representing the Voice of the Athlete* and our consumers.

  • You will be working on all types of Performance Running footwear (Road, Trail, Road Racing, Track & Field).  

  • A typical day is a combination of communicating and interacting with Athlete* testers, collaborating with your Nike WHQ counterparts, attending zoom meetings with your cross functional partners, and managing prototype samples.

  • Because we interact where Athletes* live, work and play, at times you will be working away from the London office and outside of traditional working hours.
