Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008.  Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a talented Developer to join our Risk Technology team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in developing the firm's risk technology framework and collaborate closely with senior members of both the technology and risk management teams. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the firm’s risk management systems and support a growing and dynamic business.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the risk and technology teams to design, develop, and maintain the firm's risk management technology infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of databases for batch processing and reporting, ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
  • Build and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to facilitate the seamless integration of data from various sources into the risk management system.
  • Work with third-party systems such as Barra, RiskMetrics, Orcherstrade, Bloomberg AIM, and other industry platforms to ensure effective integration with the firm's risk management framework.
  • Collaborate closely with senior developers, technology leaders, and the risk management team to ensure alignment between risk technology initiatives and business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in software development or technology-focused roles.
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one other language such as  Java, C#, or Scala.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, RedShift , Oracle, or SQL Server, with strong skills in database design for both batch processing and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining ETL processes to support data flows.
  • Experience working with third-party systems such as Barra, RiskMetrics, Front Arena, Bloomberg AIM, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts and practices in the financial industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
