Our Finance team is looking for a new talent, starting at the earliest possible time as Revenue Accounting Manager (m/f/d).

How You’ll Add Value…

We are seeking a hands on, experienced Revenue Accounting Manager (m/f/d) to join our team. The Revenue Accounting Manager (m/f/d) will report to the Controller for Sample Management Solutions. This is a key position within the accounting function responsible for ensuring proper revenue recognition in the assigned areas of the business. This role will be responsible for provision of long term and short-term manufacturing, software, and service contracts with customers. Ensure revenue is recognized to comply with applicable US and UK GAAP.

You gained strong experience in revenue recognition, a solid operational and technical accounting background, and works proactively to drive results. You are a self-starter, flexible, have a high level of integrity, and are action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do…

  • Responsible for provision of accounting of long term and short-term manufacturing, software, and service contracts with customers.
  • Reviewing and monitor performance of contracts, draw up cost and revenue forecasts for contracts based on inputs from project management.
  • Review revenue transactions ensure correct application of revenue recognition rules, coordinate with business teams to gather necessary supporting documentation.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial results, along with insightful analysis. This includes the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly intercompany tie outs, the oversight of any unusual transactions, as well as reporting provided to help senior management understand the underlying business drivers.
  • Documenting and providing a clear audit trail for the accounting of existing projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Management team, monitor and report on project financials.
  • Perform revenue testing for the assigned areas and ensure proper adherence to applicable policies and internal control procedures.
  • Account for key customer projects for Sample Management Solutions.
  • Control project spend particularly engineering projects.
  • Be the point of contact within the division on the accounting for all key contracts.
  • Update the documentation on the current and proposed treatment of project accounting.
  • Reconcile the WIP, deferred revenue, stock and long-term debtors’ accounts.
  • Maintain clear documentation and organize data which allows a reviewer to readily conclude on the implications of transactions.
  • Draft monthly management accounts showing the progress of each project and potential risks to success and changes from one month to the next.
  • Drive actions to improve revenue recognition process and engage in projects for system & process improvements.
  • Support any other accounting tasks assigned to support the business.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team of accounting professionals, promoting a culture.

What you will Bring…

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Strong background in Revenue Recognition and experienced in Long Term Project Accounting.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 5+ years in Revenue Recognition.
  • Strong technical USGAAP and IFRS knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of successful collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience with large-scale ERP systems required. Knowledge of the Oracle Cloud and OneStream is a plus.
  • Strong process focus & improvement mindset; Six Sigma and/or Lean trained a plus; strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Experience working at a global company in a SOX compliant environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrate sound work ethic, respect and cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Self-Starter, Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • A sense of urgency and self-motivation, with a personal commitment to meeting deadlines.
