The Role

Purpose of the role

The role of Events and Office Manager role is to create an exceptional workplace experience by combining operational excellence, thoughtful event delivery and proactive office management. The role ensures that our team, clients and visitors experience a professional, engaging and well-organised environment while supporting the smooth running of day-to-day office operations.

The Event and Office Manager acts as the central point of connection between people, processes and experiences, bringing Laminar culture to life through well-executed events, efficient workplace operations and continuous improvements that enable the team to perform to its best.

Team

The Operations is the engine behind our growth. We build the infrastructure that allows our business to scale without losing what makes it special.

As culture shapers and problem-solvers, we challenge the status quo, anticipate what’s coming next, and create people solutions that push the business forward. We operate with urgency, ownership, and a deep belief that great operations unlock great performance.

Reporting directly to the Head of Group Operations, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that we maximise the lived experience of all our team members by organising memorable internal and external events and making our workplace a space where all team members want to come to.

Your top three objectives

  1. Create an exceptional workplace environment
  2. Deliver impactful events that strengthen relationships and culture
  3. Drive operational excellence through proactive management and continuous improvement

Your top five responsibilities

  1. Lead the delivery of exceptional workplace experiences: Own the day-to-day office experience, ensuring a welcoming, productive and engaging environment for team members, clients and visitors. Proactively identify opportunities to improve how our team interact with, and experience the workplace.
  2. Plan and deliver high-quality events from concept to completion: Manage the full event lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, supplier co-ordination, logistics, communications, execution and post-event evaluation. Deliver events that support business goals, strengthen relationships and bring Laminar culture to life.
  3. Manage office operations and facilities effectively: Oversee workplace services, suppliers, maintenance, equipment, health and safety requirements and office processes to ensure smooth and efficient office operations.
  4. Build strong relationships with team members, clients and visitors: Act as a trusted point of contact for colleagues, leadership, vendors, clients and other partners ensuring effective communication, collaboration and consistent high service standards.
  5. Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence: Review existing processes, identify opportunity for improvement and introduce solutions that enhance efficiency, team experience and the overall effectiveness of the Laminar team.

Your capabilities

You will combine sharp operational delivery with the instinct to create workplace and event experiences people actually remember. You will move fluidly between the strategic (how the workplace should feel and function) and the hands-on (making sure the catering arrives and the room is set), and you will take genuine ownership from first idea to final execution without needing to be chased. You hold your own with senior stakeholders, visitors and suppliers alike, and you build the trusted relationships that let good things happen quietly.

You must have:

  • Mastery: Strong experience in event coordination, office management, workplace operations or a related role, with a track record of running events end-to-end: planning, logistics, suppliers, budgets and delivery, not just one slice of it. You can juggle multiple priorities, projects and deadlines without dropping the detail that makes an experience feel considered. You manage suppliers, contractors and operational processes with a firm hand, and when something isn't working you diagnose the real issue and improve the way of working rather than patching it and moving on. You care about high-quality outcomes and it shows in the things people don't consciously notice.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, confident enough to engage clients, visitors and colleagues at every level and to manage their expectations honestly, especially when priorities shift and the day gets busy. You bring strong stakeholder management: you influence, collaborate and build positive relationships rather than simply processing requests, and you carry a service-focused mindset that turns a routine interaction into a good experience.
  • Leadership: A self-starter who takes ownership and accountability and delivers without supervision. You prioritise well, take initiative before being asked, and stay calm and solution-focused when things go wrong under pressure. You can coordinate and influence others (suppliers, contractors, colleagues) to land a successful outcome, even without direct authority over them.
  • Impact: A genuine passion for creating exceptional workplaces and environments where people thrive, and the ability to deliver events and initiatives that create real engagement and connection rather than box-ticking. You keep a consistent focus on quality and efficiency, and you can read a business need and translate it into a practical operational solution.

Nice to have (if you don't have it now, you will after joining):

  • Mastery: Experience with client-facing or large-scale events, ideally in professional services or a fast-paced environment; familiarity with workplace management systems, health and safety or compliance basics, and comfort managing budgets and reporting on spend.
  • Communication: Experience supporting internal comms or engagement initiatives, working with senior and executive stakeholders, and representing Laminar with external partners and suppliers.
  • Leadership: Experience leading initiatives and coordinating teams or contractors, with a habit of challenging existing processes and driving improvements.
  • Impact: A record of developing workplace initiatives that strengthen culture and engagement, improving processes, and a real interest in shaping the future of the Laminar workplace.

Laminar isn’t the place for you if any of the following is true:

  • You want an easy, chilled-out role without much challenge
  • You like to be the smartest person in the room
  • You don’t like continuously receiving honest candid feedback
  • You prefer to do your own thing rather than work with a team

  • Be surrounded by the best: We only hire and retain the very best people. You might be used to being the smartest in the room but that won’t be the case in Laminar. You will be surrounded by people you can learn from. We are 100% meritocratic so fast progression is the norm. You will be supported to excel in whichever areas you are most interested in! With Laminar, development is unbounded
