What We Can Achieve Together:

The Resilient Watersheds Project Manager, Europe (RWPME), manages and advances watershed-scale nature-based solution (NbS) projects that support TNC’s conservation strategy in Europe. The RWPME reports to the Resilient Watersheds Program Director, Europe, and works closely with conservation and policy teams across Europe, as well as TNC’s global community of freshwater NbS practitioners.


Externally the RWPME serves as a key point of contact between the Resilient Watersheds Programme in Europe and partners developing and delivering projects on the ground. The role aligns TNC expertise, resources and networks with partner needs, coordinates TNC’s engagement across multiple projects, establishes timelines and ensures the successful delivery of agreed activities.


This means operating within a matrix of European and global TNC teams while retaining responsibility for coordinating TNC Europe budgets, tracking project performance and reporting outcomes against TNC objectives and grant agreement requirements. The role also contributes expertise and insight to support the Programme Director in developing strategies, plans and products that engage donors, businesses and policymakers, helping to grow the impact and reach of the programme.

No two projects are the same so you will need to be creative in applying your knowledge and ready to work with others to solve real world problems. You'll be joining a small but dynamic team and given opportunities to grow you knowledge and skills on projects that span from the local to global.


What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience in natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relationship-building experience in working closely with a variety of partners, i.e., media, government officials, and internal scientists.
  • Experience completing tasks independently concerning timeline(s).
  • Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
  • Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
  • Experience in training.
  • Must have valid driver's license. 

Desired Qualifications
  • Multi-lingual skills, particularly French & Spanish and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • 3-5 years’ experience  in practice or policy of water and land management , or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Familiarity with principles of Nature based Solutions,.
  • Knowledge of ecological watershed management principles.
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, water management and  environmental economics.
