We have the opportunity for a Reserving Analyst to join our Actuarial & Analytics department here at Tokio Marine Kiln. Reporting into the Reserving Manager, you will have the opportunity to support the Reserving team in GAAP, Solvency II, and IFRS deliverables on a quarterly basis, acting as a key resource to assist the team with additional analysis.

The role includes responsibility for:

  • Providing key support and actuarial input into TMK’s quarterly reserving process.

  • Assisting with the production of actuarial input (e.g. plan loss ratios, Model Driven Plan analysis) to inform the TMK business planning process.

  • Provide support in monitoring the level of TMK’s booked reserves with reference to the businesses risk appetite metrics.

  • Liaise with external actuaries regarding the delivery of data and their reserving analysis and estimates.

  • Assist in the ongoing delivery of Solvency II and IFRS17 requirements.

  • Input into the ongoing implementation and improvement of the Reserving team’s processes.

  • To encourage the development of technical capabilities within the department, and share best practice and knowledge relating to reserving across the business.

  • Champions the company values and works in accordance with the organisational behaviours.

The successful candidate will be highly numerate with an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly excel. They will also have a good understanding of statistical methods and experience of handling large data sets. Knowledge of Python, R, SQL or other relevant coding languages is also beneficial. We are looking for someone with excellent problem solving skills as well as being curious, driven, and adaptable.
