Job Details

We are seeking a Research Director to support our Profiles EMEA research team in meeting the growing demand for our full-service research offer. This role is crucial because it involves developing innovative and commercially attractive proposals, pitching for new business, recommending robust survey and sample designs to achieve research objectives, advising on best practices to support existing accounts, crafting engaging questionnaires, conducting intelligent data analysis, and developing clear and concise reports of findings. By excelling in these areas, the Research Director will enable us to deliver high-quality results to our clients, helping them grow their brands with confidence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work closely with teams around Profiles, to design, set-up and deliver research programmes across an array of clients from various sectors (e.g. Fashion, Retail, Finance, Telecoms, Not-for-Profit).
  • Lead the design and delivery of viable and winning research proposals, working in partnership with the Sales team.
  • Oversee the smooth set up and delivery of multiple research projects at a time, in partnership with the Research Managers and Operations team.
  • Create and/or sign off research materials (questionnaires, DP specs) to ensure high quality data capture and delivery to our clients.
  • Oversee the data-checking process and lead the investigation of any data queries which may arise.
  • Deliver analysis and reporting requirements: overseeing the design and population of report templates, leading on reporting, storytelling, and any presentation requirements.
  • Contribute towards special projects on an ad hoc basis, such as Research on Research experiments, new product development or marketing workstreams.
  • Support the delivery of overall financial targets and business performance.

The skills & experience needed as a Research Director

  • Experience in designing and delivering quantitative research programmes, including online studies, across the full life cycle of a project.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong and collaborative client partnerships.
  • Experience in delivering multiple research projects concurrently, excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to put together insightful and impactful reports/ presentations, and support others in doing so
  • Experience conducting fluent analysis in one or more of the established survey analysis software tools (e.g. SPSS, Survey Reporter, Q etc.).
  • High levels of logical thinking & problem-solving skills with the ability to work innovatively to deliver both short-term and long-term goals
  • Strong commercial awareness and desire to help the business deliver on its financial objectives.
  • Ability to help inspire and develop junior members of the team.
  • A passion for research, excellent communication skills and experience of working in fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • A desire to further build the profile of our team by presenting at industry conferences and seminars / events, and other activities.
