Our Future Health is the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to transform the future of healthcare. Today, millions of people across the UK live with conditions such as cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease. By bringing together 5 million volunteers from across the UK, Our Future Health is creating one of the most detailed pictures of human health ever assembled.

As a Research Associate, you’ll deliver rapid, high-impact research and experimentation to inform decisions across programme growth, diversity, operational quality, and participant engagement.

You’ll work in a test-and-learn environment, selecting the most appropriate methodology for each problem, whether that’s surveys, RCTs or experiments, and owning projects end-to-end, from framing research questions to delivering actionable insights.

You’ll also play a key role in embedding experimentation capability directly into cross-functional teams, helping squads move faster, learn quicker, and make evidence-based decisions.

You will:

  • Design and run experiments, surveys, and pilot studies, ensuring methodological rigour and timely delivery
  • Translate ambiguous problems into clear research questions, success metrics, and testable hypotheses
  • Select and apply appropriate methodologies (e.g. RCTs, A/B tests, regression analysis, ANOVA)
  • Manage the full research lifecycle: design → approvals → execution → analysis → insight delivery
  • Produce clear, concise, and actionable outputs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with product, operations, data, and engagement teams to embed experimentation into workflows
  • Contribute to building a scalable, outcome-focused experimentation culture across the organisation
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment

You’ll be part of a highly collaborative Science function, working across nearly every area of the organisation. Your work will directly contribute to improving the scale, diversity, and impact of a national health research programme.

This is a unique opportunity to apply rigorous research methods in a real-world, high-impact setting whilst working on meaningful problems.

We welcome applicants from both academic and commercial backgrounds. Whether your experience comes from research institutions, industry, or startups, what matters most is your ability to design robust studies, generate insights quickly, and drive evidence-based decisions.

Requirements
  • Strong foundation in research design and statistical methods (PhD or equivalent experience)
  • Hands-on experience designing and analysing surveys and experiments
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques such as A/B testing, ANOVA, regression, and Chi-square
  • Understanding of sampling methods, bias, and experimental design principles
  • Ability to choose the right methodology for the problem, not just apply familiar tools
  • Experience communicating complex findings to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at pace
  • A curious, analytical mindset with a drive to learn, test, and iterate quickly
  • Experience with tools such as Qualtrics, Prolific, or similar research platforms

Benefits
  • Salary from £40,000.
  • Generous Pension Scheme – We invest in your future with employer contributions of up to 12%.
  • 30 Days Holiday pro rata + Bank Holidays – Enjoy a generous holiday allowance with the flexibility to take bank holidays when it suits you.
  • Enhanced Parental Leave – Supporting you during life’s biggest moments.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme – Save 25-39% on a new bike and accessories through salary sacrifice.
  • Home & Tech Savings – Get up to 8% off on IKEA and Currys products, spreading the cost over 12 months through salary sacrifice
  • £1,000 Employee Referral Bonus – Know someone amazing? Get rewarded for bringing them on board!
  • Wellbeing Support – Access to Mental Health First Aiders, plus 24/7 online GP services and an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family.
  • A Great Place to Work – We have a lovely Central London office in Holborn, and offer flexible and remote working arrangements.

At Our Future Health, we recognise the importance of having a diverse workforce and ensuring that all candidates, regardless of their background, have equitable access to our application process. We proactively encourage applicants who identify as having a disability, neurodiversity, or long-term health conditions to let us know if they require any reasonable adjustments as part of their application process.

If you do require any reasonable adjustments, please email us at [email protected]
