Pearl Abyss the company behind the highly acclaimed MMORPG Black Desert Online (BDO) — is seeking an enthusiastic and high-performing French-speaking Remote Localization Specialist to help accelerate our gaming reach to millions of customers across all screens (PC, Mobile, Console, etc.) in Europe, and specifically France.

As a Remote Localization Specialist, you will be responsible for proofreading, translating and preparing web content, marketing text, templates, press releases and more for the French language region. Remote Localization Specialists will be in a highly collaborative role and work with results-oriented teams — Live-ops, Marketing, Project Management, Public Relations, etc.

You will work with Pearl Abyss on a freelance basis and join a dedicated team working across multiple communities, platforms and games such as Black Desert and upcoming releases such as Crimson Desert, DokeV and PLAN 8. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to ensure all Pearl Abyss current and future titles will achieve European goals.

Responsibilities

  • Localization of announcements, patch notes, web content, marketing assets, templates, press releases and game wiki.
  • Testing game translation quality, consistency and language correctness according to given specifications.
  • Proofreading and revising translated content in the language of expertise.
  • Provide assistance and support to the live service.
  • Other ad-hoc work includes local market research, monitoring in-game/community trends, giving feedback on event ideations, etc.
Requirements
  • Native/bilingual in French
  • A high level of English proficiency is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and positive personality
  • 1 year of gaming translation experience or a similar role
  • Passion for video games
  • Able to work in a geographically dispersed team; self-starter, able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge about Pearl Abyss's products especially Black Desert
  • Experience of the fantasy lore and its common glossary
  • Proficiency in Korean is a big plus
