What is the opportunity?
RBC Wealth Management are seeking an experienced Release Manager to be responsible for the coordination and management of application releases, platform/system/software upgrades for both BAU and Projects across RBC WM’s multi-platform/application technology estate.
What will you do?

Define and implement best practice Release Management Strategy, Policy, and end to end release procedures.

Act as the central point of contact for all Release activity within RBC, while keeping a consistent release framework and process.

Support internal stakeholders to manage the delivery of releases across the business. This will also at times involve liaising with external suppliers/vendors to understand and manage the technical steps and detail for releases.

Work closely with Solution architects and design authority groups to ensure new and existing applications have a suitable and robust release path and process.

Work closely with the Environment Manager & technical teams to ensure a successful & appropriate path to live.

Ensure that release packages are delivered with the correct level of due diligence in line with the defined framework to ensure Brewin have the correct level of understanding of the release & change scope.

Organise, direct and manage releases through development, test, and production environments via the route to live for BAU and Projects.

Co-ordinate resources from various technical areas; IE Application Support, DBA, Infrastructure, Operations, and other technical teams to deliver the required release objectives.

Work closely with Change Management to ensure Change processes and governance are adhered to and support the presentation of that holistic release at the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
-
Technical understanding of: MS Server and MS DB Server (SQL), Microsoft cloud offerings including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics.

ITIL qualification essential.

Demonstrable experience as an Enterprise Release Manager in a multi team, multi-application/product environment.

Significant experience working in multiple software projects throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle.

Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with technical & non-technical colleagues at all levels. including business stakeholders & 3rd parties.
Nice-to-have

Project Management qualification desirable but not essential.
