Job Description

We are looking for a highly organised relationship manager who loves connecting with supporters through phone calls and meaningful touchpoints

Wycliffe Bible Translators is a charity that is investing in fundraising and reaping the benefits, so that we can help create a world where everyone can know Jesus through the Bible. As the Relationships Manager, you will play a key part in helping us to grow resilient, sustainable income from mid-level donors and ensure that our supporters feel valued and connected to our work.

You will initially manage a caseload of approximately 400–500 mid-level donors, growing this to a maximum caseload size of 700 donors, while increasing income from your existing caseload. To help you achieve this you will work closely with your counterpart, who manages a mid-level donor caseload alongside you, and also with the Director for Supporters and Head of Individual Giving as you develop the mid-level donor pipeline from the direct marketing pool. You will also have the opportunity for regular, one-to-one coaching with specialist consultancy Veritus UK.

In this role it is essential that you enjoy building relationships with supporters over the phone. We’re also looking for you to be a creative thinker – able to translate the updates in our Bible translation programmes into engaging, meaningful and emotive touchpoints for mid-level supporters. To manage your large caseload effectively, you will need to be highly organised and confident juggling multiple priorities and tasks.

  • Location: Home-based or the option of a desk at our office in Oxford
  • Terms of appointment: Full-time (37.5 hours per week). Permanent
  • Closing date: 9am on Monday 16th November
  • Interview date: Tuesday 24th November in Birmingham

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve ambitious yet realistic mid-level donor income targets
  • Support the development of robust donor pipelines
  • Provide general support for the Key Relationships team. This could include touchpoint development, organising mailings to donors or other support

For more information, see our application pack

Benefits include:

  • 33 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays (pro-rata)
  • Up to 5 days’ extra leave to serve on the Board of an external organisation
  • Employer pension contributions up to 7.5%
  • Fully employer-funded life assurance
  • Tax-free home-working allowance
  • Monthly in-person team days in Oxfordshire or the Chilterns
  • Hot-desking facility at Oxford office
  • Fully paid-for professional development opportunities.

It is an occupational requirement of this role that you have a clear, personal commitment to the beliefs set out in our Statement of Faith and Doctrinal Position Statement.

To apply, complete the short online application, attaching your CV and a covering letter (no more than two pages) summarising why you’re applying, how you meet the person specification, and telling us about your personal Christian journey and church involvement.

You must attach a covering letter to ensure your application is considered. Please only attach pdf files, and make sure to upload your CV and covering letter as separate documents. Please note that email applications are generally not accepted unless you are having severe technical difficulties.
