Job Description
The position is in the Credit Risk team within the Capital Reporting Regulatory department of Finance. The group is a service-orientated business comprised of specialised individuals with knowledge and expertise in understanding, managing and delivering financial information to our regulators. The group is also dedicated to adding value and improving efficiency, quality and controls. The regulatory finance department is a high profile function, providing financial information to the Prudential Regulation Authority ("PRA"), Financial Conduct Authority ("FCA"), Bank of England and the Office of National Statistics. The reporting team within Regulatory Finance is split into two areas: the Capital Reporting team and the Financial Reporting team.
As a Regulatory Finance - Regulatory Capital Senior Associate in Capital Reporting Group you will be provided an opportunity to interact with multiple lines of business and internal stakeholders while learning continuously learning within the Regulatory Capital Reporting space. You will liaise with various teams, including but not limited to: line of business finance teams, Operations, Treasury, Audit, Legal Entity Control teams, as well as you will be working on requests from External Audit and the Regulators on an ad-hoc basis.
Job responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and biannual returns for the UK solo regulated entities and their associated UK consolidation groups
  • Daily and weekly production of Credit Risk Requirement measures for all products, with particular focus on Loans, Commitments, Securitisations and Leverage under CRR, and Derivatives and Securities Financing under IFPR.
  • Production of the quarterly Credit Risk, Large Exposures and Leverage Ratio reporting requirements, including a critical review of the following COREP templates: C7, C9, C11, C13, C14, C25, C34, C35 (Credit Risk) and LV40 to LV52 (Leverage Ratio) within COR001, and C26-C29 (Large Exposures) within COR002
  • Production of K-factors for MIF reports, with particular focus on Credit Risk (K-TCD) and Concentration Risk (K-CON)
  • Being Subject Matter Expert on regulatory capital calculations
  • Performing analysis and challenging regulatory capital drivers and key variances, including liaising with line of business reporting, and provide commentary
  • Maintaining the control standards adhering to firm wide and local controls around User Tools, adjustments and tracking of data/architecture issues
  • Understanding the reporting model infrastructure and implementing streamlined process solutions towards a more efficient reporting model; Providing ad-hoc MIS reporting and analytics when required by management
  • Involvement in other non-BAU tasks, such as projects and policy matters that impact the capital requirement
  • Addressing internal and external Audit requests, as well as from the regulators; partnering with Projects team in implementation of any system related changes
  • Developing network and acting as a contact within the Reg team for other areas of Finance and the Business

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Familiarity with current Capital regulations and reporting requirements (COREP / IFPR).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel (pivot tables and vlookups), Access, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • General accounting, reconciliation and finance knowledge essential,
  • Degree qualification and either accountancy qualification or qualification by experience with Financial Services industry
  • Good understanding of investment banking products, including derivatives and security financing transactions, as well as loans and other credit products
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to work under pressure to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
  • Axiom user experience
  • Alteryx knowledge / experience
  • Familiarity with FRTB rules and requirements
  • Familiarity with Basel 3.1 changes
  • Knowledge from a Regulatory environment
