Main Purpose of the job:
Responsible for identifying, developing, supporting, and delivering new and existing business opportunities within the South-west region which will help the company achieve its sales target plus its business strategic objectives.
To promote the Watts Company and the Watts brand by working with the Merchant head offices, branches, Consultants, Specifiers, Design Houses,
OEMs, and all other customers to maximise opportunities to make sales throughout the supply chain within the valve & actuator industry.
To support new and existing customers with applications & design.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The Sales Manager will be responsible for producing and implementing a robust and sustainable business strategy to demonstrate year on year growth to meet the company's aims, goals and objectives plus the pull and push strategy.
  • Identify key influencers within the customers and region to develop business, online, internet platforms, new product launches and Marketing strategies and make Watts a tier one or a preferred supplier.
  • Setting, negotiating, and implementing all agreed teams and conditions (T&C's) with their customers.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the customers in the region and develop into orders.
  • Work and support the Watts Internal and External Sales Team to develop business with their customers.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and margins set by Watts and the UK Sales Leader.
  • Develop, implement processes and systems to improve the efficiency within Watts and to meet the customers KPl's and for continuous improvement plus quality.
  • Assist in the development of sales and marketing literature and associated documents to improve the Watts brand awareness and recognition.  
  • Provide the main source of expertise to the company on business development issues in relation to the South-West region.
  • Update the company CRM system with all information on all designated customers including orders and projects.
  • Maintain all required records of sales and other relevant information to enable performance to be measured, monitored, qualified and quantified.
  • Support the Sales Leader within Watts Head Office to report performance, business, business growth, aims, goals and objectives and other reports back to the shareholder and the business.
  • To follow the Company's and Group's internal and external procedures
  • To carry out any such other duties that may reasonably be requested of you.

Education

  • Degree in Business or similar qualification. 

Management

  • This role has no direct reports.

Experience, skills and qualities.

  • At least three years’ experience & proven track record within the valve/actuation industry.
  • Proven sales track record through a range of channels such as Solution sales, Wholesalers, Distributors, Consultants, Developers, OEM’s, Valves Companies and End Users.
  • Excellent Commercial knowledge and experience. 
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • An extensive understanding of the industry and the customers within the industry.
  • Excellent capability of Word, Excel, Power Point, CRM systems (Salesforce)
  • Outlook and other computer programs plus a strong understand of spread sheets.
