Who we are looking for

We pride ourselves on providing excellent client service, so a positive and ‘can do’ attitude is essential. We’re looking for a Tax Assistant Manager who has strong organisation skills, a keen eye for detail and enjoys building relationships. Our people possess an enthusiasm for working in collaboration with their colleagues, supported closely by partners and managers.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are also necessary, as is someone passionate about developing themselves. We are not looking for someone who knows everything already, but someone who is committed to their development and keen to work hard and learn!

The role of the R&D Tax Assistant Manager will primarily involve working closely with the Mangers and Senior Managers based in the UK. Clients range from SME, large and very large businesses. As a R&D Tax Assistant Manager, you will work as a part of a team of corporate tax experts, helping our clients tackle their compliance and complicated issues from strategy to execution. 

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking the first review of the R&D related expenditure and technical narratives to support the expenditure.
  • Researching, analysing and interpreting R&D tax legislation
  • Providing training and support to tax juniors
  • Proactively assisting in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Managers and above,

Eligibility, Skills and Experience

To be eligible to apply for our R&D Tax Assistant Manager role you will need to have:

  • Experience of having worked in corporate tax either in house or within a consultancy practice, minimum 3 years
  • Newly qualified or studying towards professional qualification ACCA/CTA
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills in particular Excel
  • A commitment to team working and delivering great client service
  • Good project management and self-organizational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Resilient and able to work to deadlines
  • 2:2 or above from a degree in any discipline
  • 112 UCAS points from three A-Levels (or equivalent)
  • The right to work in the UK
