Our Turbocharger Core Components department is seeking a highly educated and innovative engineer to join our structural mechanics team. In collaboration with R&D and testing engineers, you will be responsible for performing structural mechanics calculations for the design of new turbochargers and turbocharger components. Furthermore, you will engage in advanced simulation technologies and processes to support development teams. If you possess expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) and are open to pioneering ideas, we are eager to meet you.
You tasks and responsibilities:

Utilize FEA tools to conduct comprehensive numerical analyses in the areas of mechanical integrity and lifetime prediction, with an emphasis on thermomechanical fatigue

Analysis and numerical evaluation of bolted connections

Develop, implement, and maintain structural mechanics methods to improve lifetime prediction

Integrate field data into structural mechanical evaluations

Manage development initiatives that include fundamental research

Contribute to development projects related to turbochargers

Provide support for design variations until they are technically ready for production

Collaborate extensively with engineering, design, and testing teams
Your background:

Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
-
Proficiency in FEA tools (ABAQUS/SIMULIA/3DExperience), particularly within the field of turbomachinery

Familiarity with CAD in 3DExperience is beneficial

Solid background in structural mechanics and finite element analysis (FEA)

Experience in thermomechanical fatigue and material modeling
-
Understanding of thermodynamics and expertise in scripting or programming is beneficial

Responsible personality with the ability for self-reflection
-
Ability to effectively persuade and communicate intricate technical matters

Interest in improving products using simulations

Proficiency in business English and German
