The Rates Analyst will be primarily responsible for ensuring that client and matter rate information is harmonized across all systems; in accordance to the engagement framework and outside counsel guidelines. This position will focus on pricing and rates outside the US. Also, the Rates Analyst will analyse data to support pricing proposals and matter budgets for attorneys, monitor alternative fee arrangements and provide reports to internal and external stakeholders and support the annual standard rate review process. The Rates Analyst may also be tasked with handling basic finance reporting and analysis requests, as needed.
What You Will Do:
- Build and update rate cards and ebilling templates for proposed client pricing arrangements and rate submissions.
- Gather and populate financial data, including analysis of existing client and matter level rate information.
- Review and update the billing system to ensure that client and matter fee arrangements are implemented in accordance with the engagement framework and outside counsel guidelines.
- Input financial and non-financial information into the firm’s systems and assess compliance with internal and external budgeting policies.
- Update and manage client budget tracking system. Audit the existing client budgets weekly for accurate reporting.
- Onboard new timekeepers in the financial systems.
- Responsible for analysis of client and matter level rate information; including responding to timekeeper rate inquiries.
- Develop Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reporting to ensure data governance and integrity.
- Responsible for working with team on testing and development of user acceptance testing (UAT) pertaining to new BI reporting tools and systems or updates.
- Maintain resources and content on the intranet, collaboration website and document management system.
- Collaborate with billing, pricing and finance teams with overall rate related requests.
Who You Are:
- 3+ years’ experience as a business or financial analyst, management accountant or similar role preferred.
- Professional services or law firm experience highly regarded.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Excellent analytical skills and high level of attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Preference for fluency in French or German, as well.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Experienced in Business Intelligence (and Business Applications) development (Alteryx and Tableau preferred).
- Ability to protect and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
