About The Role

Boldyn Networks is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Lead with extensive knowledge and expertise in the rail sector. In this role, the candidate will oversee the development of Boldyn’s infrastructure. This pivotal role involves leading a team of engineers in the design, implementation and optimisation of systems and their integration with the existing railway infrastructure that are essential to the operation and advancement of our projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities are aligned with industry standards and best practices, continuously driving technical excellence, safety, efficiency, quality and innovation.
What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers in the development of rail sector infrastructure projects.
  • Works closely with other functions (project controls, delivery, finance, commercial, procurement).
  • Coordinates with other leaders within the project to ensure that multi-discipline interfaces are properly addressed with resolution of technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all project requirements are met through comprehensive design packs and associated documentation.
  • Ensuring appropriate processes are deployed for the management of engineering change.
  • Develop and own processes which cover Boldyn’s approach to Fire Compliance, HVAC, Mechanical and Electrical, Civils, Architectural and any other applicable design and engineering disciplines.
  • Ensuring changes are not directed to suppliers outside of the deployed change management process.
  • Work closely with Boldyn’s customers and partners to drive effective relationships, driving forward approvals allowing for key milestones to be achieved.
  • Maintain continuous improvement and reliability of infrastructure.
  • Align engineering objectives with the overall strategic goals of Boldyn Networks.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budget to meet delivery program milestones.
  • Serve as the technical expert and point of contact for Engineering-related inquiries and issues, coaching others to build their knowledge.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methods, including requirements management and production of engineering specifications.
  • Mentor and develop your team, fostering a culture of right first time, excellent partnership with suppliers and customers with clear ownership identified and applied.
     

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive expertise in the rail and transit sector, with a strong background in infrastructure development.
  • Complex stakeholder management across multi disciplines across the business – Commercial, technology, Operations,      
  • A track record of driving innovation and improving efficiency within engineering teams.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of relevant LU/TFL and Network Rail processes and standards
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments to integrate new technologies and methodologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, internal auditing and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methods, including requirements management and production of engineering specifications
