The Role
Digital Assets to advance is looking for a driven Quantitative Developer with an interest in Digital Assets and blockchain engineering to advance the research, integration, and development of our quantitative expertise and contribute to the development of advanced quantitative strategies.
You will have a strong programming background as well as a solid background in statistical modelling, machine learning methods and cloud computation within a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) environment. Practical knowledge in smart contract engineering and DeFi would be advantageous.
It will be important for a candidate to be curious, creative, and agile in learning and apply software engineering practices to our research framework.
Principal Responsibilities
- Work to develop yield strategies using quantitative techniques within the digital asset ecosystem.
- Design and implement robust frameworks for backtesting and simulating strategies in decentralized and blockchain-based markets.
- Develop tools to analyze liquidity dynamics, transaction costs, and other key market features.
- Collect, process, and manage large datasets from on-chain and off-chain sources.
- Build pipelines to handle real-time and historical data for in-depth analysis.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to present actionable insights to the team.
- Work closely with researchers to implement yield strategies and prototype code.
- Provide technical support for optimizing strategy execution.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions for innovative approaches to blockchain-driven trading.
- Develop tools for interacting with blockchain protocols and decentralized platforms through APIs and nodes.
- Understand the mechanics of liquidity pool, token mechanics, and decentralized trading platforms.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, latest yield opportunities, and innovations in blockchain-driven markets and decentralized ecosystems.
- Provide technical support for exploratory research and proof-of-concept projects.
- Document tools, methodologies, and best practices for the broader team.
- Research, evaluate and explore risk management and portfolio optimization algorithms.
- Work with blockchain engineers to test code as well as creating your own prototype code.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Python required, and a practical knowledge of either Solidity/Move/Go/Rust preferred.
- Working knowledge of SQL required.
- Experience in building backtesting frameworks and working with large datasets.
- Prior exposure to blockchain-based markets, or related trading activities is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of the principles of machine learning, classification models, time series regression and stochastic calculus.
- Advanced knowledge of Git, GitHub, BitBucket, Hardhat, TypeScript
- Deep knowledge of data structures, data modelling and software architecture
- Experience developing AI/ML cloud solutions such as AWS and Azure
- Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as attention to detail
- Positive attitude and self-motivated with ability to learn quickly, adjust to changes and think creatively.
- Excellent technical communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-driven and eager to explore cutting-edge opportunities in blockchain markets.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
