Position Overview
As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to various projects related to quality assurance and continuous improvement processes. This internship will provide a valuable learning experience in the field of quality engineering within the manufacturing industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Quality Engineering team on various projects, such as paperless forms implementation, gage r&r's (repeatability and reproducibility studies), and quality assurance and development initiatives.
- Utilize your technical skills to design and develop paperless forms that streamline documentation processes and improve data accuracy.
- Support the team in conducting gage r&r studies to assess the measurement system's reliability and ensure accurate data collection.
- Assist in quality assurance activities, including audits and inspections, to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Work with the Quality Engineering team to develop prototype safe launch plans to ensure the successful launch of new programs and products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks and develop appropriate countermeasures to mitigate quality issues during the launch phase.
- Assist in conducting failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and implement preventive actions at the prototype stage.
Qualifications:
- Some related experience preferred
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma
- Currently Attending a College or University, preferably pursuing a degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and tools, such as gage r&r and FMEA.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in paperless forms development and statistical analysis.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
