Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit 🐈‍⬛. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We're a diverse team of 250+ brilliant minds from over 35 countries united by a single goal: to revolutionise computing with a practical fault-tolerant quantum machine. Are you ready to take on unprecedented challenges and contribute to revolutionising technology? Join us, and let's shape the future of quantum computing together!

Role

As Chief of Staff to the VP of QHI, you will act as a key link between strategy and execution, ensuring alignment and momentum across the department.

You will work closely with the VP, the QPU Lead Expert, and team leaders to shape and structure the department’s technical roadmap. In parallel, you will lead or contribute to high-impact cross-functional initiatives—stepping in hands-on when needed—to bridge organizational or technical gaps.

You will also collaborate closely with PMO and TechOps to ensure smooth and reliable delivery across the department.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting the dots, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and diving into complex physics and engineering challenges.

    • Support the deployment of the roadmap into a structured and coherent project portfolio
    • 2. Cross-Functional Project Leadership

      • Lead and/or contribute to key cross-functional projects (e.g. : optimization of screening at A&B)
      • Provide hands-on technical contributions when needed, particularly in system engineering, complementing team expertise
      • 3. Operational Excellence & Delivery

        • Identify bottlenecks in workflows, communication, and decision-making processes
        • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving approaches (e.g., Gemba)
        • Facilitate collaboration between the department and other teams, acting as a central point of coordination
        • Set up the production organization for the first machines delivered externally
        • 4. VP Office Support

        • Act as a force multiplier for the VP by preparing key meetings, tracking KPIs, synthesizing information, and ensuring follow-through on decisions
        • Represent the department in industry events, forums, and supplier engagements
        • Serve as a trusted proxy for the VP in internal and external discussions, ensuring clarity and consistency
