The role:

Join our outstanding team in Slough, UK as a Quality Control (QC) Technologist - Microbiology at Lonza! The QC Technologist will work effectively within the QC Microbiology environment whilst conducting Microbiology testing to support Product Qualifications, routine testing and environmental and utilities monitoring.

You will also be responsible for providing laboratory support, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance and inventory of supplies.

Working pattern: Sucessful candidates will have to work every weekend

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive microbiological testing to support Product Qualifications, Routine Testing, and Environmental and Utilities Monitoring.

  • Perform microbiological analysis on intermediate and final product samples promptly, ensuring strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

  • Review and approve results generated by other team members, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

  • Document and critically assess all results in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), promptly reporting any concerns to QC management.

  • Provide essential laboratory support, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and laboratory cleaning.

  • Ensure all safety requirements relevant to tasks are strictly followed.

  • Attend and remain current with all core GMP training sessions, maintaining an up-to-date training profile.

Key requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Microbiology/Biology or equivalent experience.

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in microbiological techniques.

  • Outstanding ability to review data and ensure high standards are met by the team.

  • Proven capability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects within agreed timelines while maintaining outstanding quality standards.
