What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers Insurance are looking for a QA Specialist to join our team in Redhill, Surrey.
Under moderate supervision, works as a member of the Operational Effectiveness team to: Conduct quality reviews for the Operational Processing functions and Business Units, conducts reviews for compliance and manages the monthly rebuttal process for the Quality Assurance team. Provide positive and constructive feedback to support performance improvement and operational consistency and reports to Operational Management team on a regular or as needed basis. This job does not manage others.
Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.What Will You Do?

  • Applies audit standards and follow directions and properly apply question sets to determine accuracy.
  • Participates and/or leads in calibration and rebuttal meetings.
  • Clearly and effectively communicates quality assurance findings to employees and manages.
  • Identifies trends and areas for improvement in the Quality Assurance programme.
  • Prepares monthly QA reports and related information for error analysis and assessment.
  • Maintains a solid understanding of current products, coverages and quality methodology.
  • Liaise with Operations Management to ensure that action plans and/or training is agreed and implemented.
  • Conducts QA training where necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of audit plans, programmes and specific tests to evaluate control areas or new processes.
  • Ensures all procedure guides, plans and standard operating procedures are maintained and kept up to date with any changes completed in a timely manner meeting required governance.
  • Assist with UAT for IT system upgrades.
  • Develop the quality audit framework to meet all business requirements/regulations in liaison with the Director, Operational Effectiveness.
  • May train others in individual or group setting
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Relevant experience of working for a Lloyds Syndicate/London Company, in an underwriting support role preferred.
  • Relevant experience of Underwriting Account Manager and Underwriting Support Manager processing preferred.
  • Relevant experience of handling aggregates, including data cleansing, importation and geo-coding of location level data preferred.
  • General Knowledge of underwriting, claims and reinsurance processes.
  • General Knowledge of handling delegated authority Business.
  • Technical competence and able to use the following IT systems with intermediate ability:
  • Excel
  • Business Objects/Crystal reports
  • Intech Open Box Plus or other Lloyds underwriting system
  • Intech Open Xposure or other Lloyds aggregation system
  • Scanning/Document Repository systems
  • Basic knowledge of systems change & project processes
  • Business Skills:

What is a Must Have?

  • GCSE or equivalent, or relevant experience in an underwriting support role required.
