We are seeking a meticulous engineering candidate to function as a Software Tester to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by conducting thorough testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
Maximize customer experience and assure customer loyalty by driving integration of quality principles and techniques into all phases of the product lifecycle through advanced quality planning for optimized processes and systems, collection and analysis of data and structured problem solving. Under general direction, applies defined procedures and criteria in carrying out quality related engineering or operations projects, tasks, and deliverables. Capable of leading/managing small to medium projects in scope from start to finish in accordance with the company's policies, including developing, executing, and reporting results on test plans to specifications and technical standards to assure the resulting offering meets requirements and are fit for the intended use cases. Works independently and coordinates cross-functionally to accomplish assigned tasks and builds working relationships internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities may include:

• Review and analyze system specifications to understand the software’s intended functionality.
• Design, develop, and execute test cases to assess software performance for Web Based Client 
• Design, develop, execute test cases, and implement firmware test methodologies, tools, and solutions.
• Verify and Validate web-based Application and Documentation based on standards for software development.
• Functional Testing, Regression Testing, System testing, Integration Testing, Performance Testing, Configuration Testing, GUI Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Identify, document, and prioritize technical issues and defects discovered during testing.
• Collaborate with software developers and other team members to resolve any identified issues.
• Track and report on quality metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.
• Ensure that new software integrations meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
• Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing to ensure the software’s continued performance.
• Participate in product design reviews, providing input on functional requirements, product designs, and identifying potential problems.
• Lead software test projects, writing test plans, test cases, collating and creating test metrics

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering field
• Proven interest as a Software Tester, Firmware Tester or in a similar role.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) along with QA methodologies.
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
• Familiarity in firmware tools a plus:
  •  C or C+
  • MIB and MIB browsers
  • Packet sniffing tools such as Wireshark
• Knowledge of Basic Networking:
  •  SNMP, Radius, BACnet
  • IPv4, IPv6 essentials
  • Bluetooth, BLE functionality
• Familiarity with various testing tools and software development frameworks:
  • Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence
  • Zephyr
• API testing with tools such as Postman
• Scripting skills such as Python, Perl, Jscript
• Understanding of Power and Power related products such as
  • Power basics Voltage, Current, Energy how are they defined and used.
  • PDU, UPS, other power delivery resources

Preferred Certifications and/or Licenses:

ISTQB Functional Test Engineer is a plus, will be needed in the first year of employment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Required Degree:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Engineering a plus

Preferred Certifications and/or Licenses:

ISTQB Functional Test Engineer, ISTQB Advanced Certifications a plus
