Build and maintain end-to-end automated test frameworks for web and API platforms, integrate tests into CI/CD, own test coverage, write bug reports, and improve test reliability and speed.
The summary above was generated by AI

TLDR: We’re looking for a hands-on QA Engineer to own product quality across our rapid release cycles. You’ll spend most of your time manually testing new features and fixes across our web platform and APIs: exploring edge cases, identifying risks, running focused regression checks, and giving the team fast, clear feedback. You’ll also automate stable, high-value scenarios using Playwright and Python, helping us make repeatable testing faster and more reliable. This is a manual-first product QA role where automation is an important tool, not the entire job.

About us

White Circle is an AI Safety company building the safety, reliability, and optimization layer for AI systems. At the core of our platform are policies – simple natural-language rules that define what an AI model should and shouldn’t do. We automatically test, enforce, and continuously improve these policies at scale.

  • We’ve raised $11M from top funds, founders, and senior leaders at OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Mistral, DeepMind, Datadog, Sentry, and others

  • We process over one hundred million API calls every month

  • We fine-tune and train our own LLMs so they run faster and cheaper than any open or proprietary model

We’re a small, highly focused team. If you want to work deeply on hard problems, see your work ship to production quickly, and influence how AI safety is actually built – you’re the one we need.

You will:
  • Manually test new features and fixes throughout frequent and short (sometimes as short as a working day) release cycles

  • Quickly understand product changes, identify the highest-risk areas, and provide clear release feedback

  • Perform exploratory, smoke, regression, and integration testing across our web platform and APIs

  • Create concise, practical test plans and checklists for new features and releases

  • Investigate unexpected behaviour, isolate root causes, and write clear, reproducible bug reports

  • Work closely with engineers and product owners to clarify requirements and improve testability before development is complete

  • Build, maintain, and integrate automated tests for stable/business-critical flows into CI/CD, improving reliability and speed

You’ll fit right in if you:
  • Have 2+ years of QA automation experience & you’ve built frameworks from scratch

  • Have experience with Playwright for end-to-end UI testing and know how to structure scalable test suites

  • Write clean automation code in Python (pytest, fixtures, parametrize)

  • Have plugged automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)

  • Communicate clearly and work well with others & have fluent English

  • Have experience working with AI coding agents and LLM-powered developer tools, and understand how to use them effectively to improve productivity and testing workflows

  • Are curious, proactive, and eager to learn new things: you ask questions, think critically, and constantly look for ways to improve and optimise existing processes and solutions

A big plus:

  • Experience testing AI or LLM-based products, handling non-deterministic outputs, confidence scoring, edge-case prompts

  • Familiarity with performance or load testing (k6, Locust)

  • Experience with Postman, Insomnia, Yaak or API contract testing

  • Background in security-aware QA or SOC 2 environments

Why White Circle
  • Meaningful equity package

  • Paid time off in line with your local regulations, no matter where you work from

  • Work from Paris (hybrid) + relocation package

  • Best medical insurance in France

  • All the hardware, tools, and services you need

  • Covered subscriptions for AI agents and IDEs

  • Team off-sites twice a year: we’ve recently been to the Alps and to Saint-Tropez

How we hire
  1. Intro call with HR (20 min)

  2. Take-home test task

  3. Technical interview with QA Engineer (1h)

  4. Final call with our CEO & Head of Engineering (45 min)

Please submit your application in English - it’s our company language so you’ll be speaking lots of it if you join
