ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong mobile testing expertise to support development of a mobile application, available on iOS and Android in Germany via the Apple App Store and Google Play. The application serves as a key digital channel for health insurance customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • reviewing business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • acting as a manual tester with high stress resilience and a strong focus on delivering on time and with high quality
  • creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for mobile applications (iOS & Android)
  • preparing test data and test environments needed for test execution
  • estimating, prioritizing, and planning test activities for releases
  • designing, executing, and documenting manual tests for:
    • new features
    • regression and smoke tests
    • integration and end-to-end scenarios
  • logging, tracking, and re-testing defects, including clear documentation of reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and impact
  • participating in release activities (e.g. release readiness checks, smoke tests after deployment, supporting go/no-go decisions)
  • collaborating closely with the project team and stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and quality goals
  • keeping test documentation up to date in Jira and Confluence (test cases, test runs, test reports, release notes from a testing perspective)
  • actively identifying risks and areas for improvement in the testing process and product quality
  • staying up to date with new testing tools, techniques, and mobile QA best practices, and continuously improving the test process in the project

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • professional experience as a QA Engineer in manual testing of mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications, including testing on different devices, OS versions, and under varying network conditions
  • very good understanding of the software testing process and SDLC
  • hands-on experience in preparing and executing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases using various test design techniques (e.g. boundary values, equivalence partitioning, decision tables, exploratory testing)
  • experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • strong experience with Jira (creating and managing tasks, bugs, and test-related items)
  • experience working with Confluence or similar documentation tools
  • hands-on experience with API testing (e.g. Postman, Swagger)
  • ability to participate in regression testing, smoke testing, and testing of new features within a sprint
  • experience in defect management: identification, reporting, tracking, and verification of fixes
  • basic understanding of mobile platform specifics (iOS/Android), app installation methods, basic debugging, and log collection
  • proactive, problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently, while being a strong team player
  • fluent communication skills in Polish and English (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

  • German language at B2 level – ability to read and understand documentation, requirements, and basic communication in German
  • experience with test automation for mobile apps (e.g. Appium, WebdriverIO or other mobile automation frameworks)
  • experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar)
  • experience in non-functional testing such as performance, security, or accessibility testing for mobile applications
