About the role

We’re building and scaling a high-growth D2C product in the LegalTech / Utilities space and are looking for a QA Engineer who takes real ownership of product quality.

This is a hands-on, manual QA–first role in a fast-moving environment where features ship often, experiments run continuously, and quality cannot be an afterthought. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to ensure that what reaches users is stable, reliable, and works as expected across browsers, devices, and real-world scenarios.

We’re not looking for someone who only executes test cases. We’re looking for a quality owner — someone who thinks in user journeys, spots risks early, understands how systems break in production, and proactively raises issues before they impact customers.

This is not a checkbox or 9–5 role. The pace is high, expectations are clear, and your work will have direct impact on user experience, conversion, and trust in the product.

Key Responsibilities

Core QA & Web Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of modern web application architecture.

  • Deep knowledge of browser behavior, including:

    • Cookies, sessions, localStorage

    • Cross-tab and cross-device session handling

  • Solid understanding of authentication mechanisms, including:

    • Magic link / passwordless authentication

    • OAuth / SSO concepts (Google, Microsoft)

  • Experience testing subscription-based products (billing flows, access control, edge cases).

  • Good understanding of release cycles, regression testing, and risk-based QA.

Mandatory Tools & Technologies
  • BrowserStack (or equivalent) — mandatory

    • Cross-browser and cross-OS testing

    • Mobile emulation and real-device testing

  • Browser DevTools

    • Network inspection

    • Basic console error analysis

    • Cache and storage debugging

  • Issue tracking tools (Jira, Plane, or similar)

  • Basic familiarity with analytics and logging tools (Mixpanel, Sentry, or equivalents)

Testing & QA Approach
  • Manual QA–first mindset with strong attention to detail and edge cases.

  • Ability to think in real user scenarios, not just happy paths.

  • Strong regression mindset — ability to identify areas that break repeatedly.

  • Comfortable testing partially implemented or fast-changing features.

  • Able to validate fixes independently, without relying on step-by-step instructions.

  • Consistent focus on quality across environments and releases.

Technical Awareness (Non-Coding)
  • Ability to read and understand API responses (REST / JSON).

  • Familiarity with HTTP status codes and common error types.

  • Awareness of common frontend and deployment-related issues, including:

    • Cache invalidation problems

    • Chunk loading failures

    • Environment mismatches after deploys

Work Style & Collaboration
  • Clear, structured written communication of bugs and findings.

  • Ability to describe issues using:

    • Steps to reproduce

    • Expected vs actual behavior

  • Proactive mindset — flags risks and potential issues early.

  • Comfortable working directly with developers and product managers.

  • Takes ownership of quality, not just test execution.

Nice to have
  • Experience with D2C SaaS products.

  • Exposure to A/B testing, feature flags, or experimentation frameworks.

  • Understanding of automated testing concepts (not required to implement).
