QA Analyst – Automation, Performance & AI‑Enabled Testing

Location: Southampton (Hybrid)
Contract: 18 Month Fixed Term Contract

CNS are currently recruiting for a QA Analyst to take ownership of day‑to‑day Quality Assurance across our legacy applications, while supporting our transition to a modern, Azure‑based platform. This role has a strong emphasis on test automation and performance testing, while continuing to require hands‑on manual testing expertise to ensure high‑quality delivery of critical business systems.

You will work within fast‑paced Agile delivery teams, taking responsibility for end‑to‑end testing activities, including the design and execution of automated, manual, and non‑functional tests. Experience with AI‑assisted testing tools and practices is advantageous but not mandatory, as this capability is being introduced progressively within the QA function.

This is a hands‑on, communication‑heavy role, requiring close collaboration with Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and senior stakeholders to ensure every release meets the highest quality standards.

How You Will Contribute

  • Own end‑to‑end QA delivery across the SDLC, ensuring QA governance and quality standards are met throughout Agile delivery.
  • Plan, design, and execute manual, automated, and performance testing, including SIT, UAT, regression, and end‑to‑end testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support and contribute to performance and non‑functional testing, including test execution, monitoring, and results analysis.
  • Interpret requirements, define test coverage and approach, manage defects in JIRA, maintain test environments and data, and provide clear status updates, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong hands‑on experience in test automation (minimum 5 years) using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, with programming skills in Java, JavaScript, or Python, and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and Git.
  • Proven experience in performance testing (minimum 3 years) using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or k6, with a solid understanding of performance testing types, workload modelling, web protocols, metrics analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong manual testing experience, including UAT, regression, end‑to‑end, API, and SQL testing, ideally within Agile and enterprise or legacy system environments.
  • Desirable: experience with AI‑assisted testing and GenAI tools for test design, automation support, or defect analysis; familiarity with Azure/AWS, BDD frameworks, monitoring tools, and basic security testing principles.
