Great opportunity for a Junior Vice President to join our Public Sector Group team
Job Summary:
As a Vice President in our Multilateral Institutions and Development Banks team, you will play a key part in JP Morgan's relationships with development banks and multilateral institutions.
By leveraging our global expertise and resources, we aim to support the mission of our development bank clients in promoting economic development in emerging markets (EM). The team engages with these institutions in two capacities:

  • As Clients of JPMorgan: we offer development banks the comprehensive suite of JPMorgan's Investment Banking products and services (e.g., arranging capital markets funding transactions, executing derivatives, providing payments and securities services)
  • As Partners with JPMorgan: we work together with development banks on transactions (e.g., debt, equity, trade finance, infrastructure financings) that JPMorgan originate for our sovereign, state-owned and corporate clients in emerging markets


The team comprises four members who are based in Washington DC, New York and London.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead origination of transactions for our Emerging Markets clients where JPMorgan partner with development banks
  • Bring development banks into bond, loan and equity transactions as investor or co-lender
  • Make use of the risk mitigation products of development banks (e.g., guarantees, risk-sharing, first-loss cover) to originate transactions with JPMorgan product partners (e.g., debt capital markets, trade finance and Markets structuring teams)
  • Pitch mobilization capabilities of development banks to Emerging Markets clients in conjunction with JPMorgan coverage and product teams
  • Foster relationships with key development banks and map out their investment teams by product and region (at the headquarter and local country level)
  • Contribute to team strategy and drive revenue growth
  • Participate in conferences and panels, with a focus on the mobilization of private capital in partnership with development banks, to scale up investment in Emerging Markets
  • Understand GCB's business with the development banks and support in direct business with these clients, as needed


Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • 6+ years of professional experience in investment banking (Emerging Markets deal origination or structuring experience useful) or within a development finance institution/agency
  • Experience in debt capital markets, infrastructure finance/advisory or structured products useful
  • Ability to navigate across large client organizations and broker information across JPMorgan coverage and product teams
  • Understanding and experience of sustainable development in Emerging Markets
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
