Your Role

Gensler is seeking a professional, motivated, and highly collaborative individual to join our team as a Public Relations Specialist, supporting the delivery of the communications strategy for our five offices across Europe in London, Berlin, Paris, Munich and Birmingham. Reporting directly to the Regional PR Leader, the ideal candidate will simultaneously manage multiple deliverables with strategic thinking, across media outreach, speaking engagements, thought leadership and reporting.

Please note, this role is not remote. We look forward to working with our new Public Relations Specialist in our incredible London office.  

What You Will Do

  • Work with the Regional PR Leader to identify story angles and pitch to relevant media.
  • Work with the Regional PR Leader on media interview opportunities including briefing documents, talking points and Q+A responses.
  • Create and update the campaign trackers for project launches and business stories. 
  • Work with the project design teams to draft press materials including press releases, pitches, Q+As, key messages, and other copywriting, as needed.
  • Track, monitor and measure PR hits; create and organise press cuttings.
  • Manage and vet inbound media queries including image requests.
  • Maintain speaking opportunities tracker, manage inbound speaking opportunities and call-for-speaker deadlines and develop talking points, as needed.
  • Work with the Regional PR Leader and our architects and designers to develop and craft thought leadership articles and comment pieces.
  • Assist with photoshoots including pre-shoot planning and coordination, attendance and staffing and uploading final photography to asset management systems.
  • Work with the Regional PR Leader and EU marcomms team on event support and coordination including press breakfasts, project launches and internal and external events in the office.
  • Collaborate with social media coordinator to amplify PR coverage through our social channels 
  • Collect relevant market news and compile into weekly Industry News Brief.
  • Maintain media lists; research and add new journalist contacts as needed.
  • Assist with compiling weekly press coverage, speaking opportunities, events, and award wins for This Week at Gensler.

Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a public relations, media, or communications role, either agency based or in-house; background in architecture, design, journalism or related field is desirable.
  • Strong writing, editing, grammar and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to craft, prepare, and execute writing assignments under deadlines.
  • Works cohesively as a member of the broader EU marcomms team, pitches in to help others, forward-thinking go-getter; ability to adapt in dynamic settings.
  • Knowledge of French and/or German is desirable.
  • Software: Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Cision.
