About the role (What you’ll be doing)

We are looking for a driven operator to lead the adoption of Juniper into the NHS and raise Juniper’s profile more generally, with the goal of providing greater access to weight management care to the UK public.

There are 2 key objectives for this role in the next 12 months

  • Secure multiple NHS commissioning opportunities (at least 2)
    • Scope, size and prioritise potential NHS and ICB contract opportunities, including researching the demographics and other relevant data, and staying abreast of potential tender opportunities
    • Maintain existing relationships across ICBs, HINs, and NHS England, as well as 10x our ability to generate new quality leads with key NHS stakeholders in all target ICBs
    • Lead the preparation of tender applications, as well as identify and involve consortium partners where appropriate
  • Elevate Juniper’s profile throughout the UK public health system and policy makers
    • Prepare and maintain a stakeholder map across government, regulators, NHS England, peak bodies and industry groups
    • Meet regularly with government and peak body stakeholders, and prioritise the expansion of our memberships across this space
    • Keep abreast of possible regulatory changes; help to respond to inbound media inquiries; coordinate and meet with our UK external advisors; participate in industry group meeting

This role reports directly into the Senior Leadership Team, and initially works directly with the Head of International Expansion, with the Global Head of Public Policy and Regional GM for Europe being key stakeholders.

About you (Who are we looking for)

  • Experience in operationalising NHS partnerships: You have at least combined 7 years of professional experience, and at least 3 of those years working within, or in partnership with the NHS. You have an understanding of NHS research and commissioning processes, the structure of the NHS and the interrelationship between different NHS entities, and some existing professional relationships in the sector.
  • Hunter / Hustler: You have a strong bias to action, a willingness to knock on many doors and persevere towards achieving adoption of Juniper within the NHS despite setbacks and delays. You are resilient and creative in how you approach opportunities to ‘get to yes’.
  • Strong communicator: You are able to align people around chaos using a variety of mediums from written, verbal, and visually. You are an effective active listener and are able to interact with stakeholders in a concise and effective manner. Comfortable with numbers and synthesising data into clear insights and opportunities.
  • Expert brand ambassador and relationship builder: You are comfortable pitching Juniper to new stakeholders including clinicians and commissioners on a regular basis and in a manner suitable for the NHS environment, fostering and maintaining relationships with NHS stakeholders with the goal of developing long-term partnerships.
  • Executional powerhouse: Organisation and project management is your spike, and you are able to manage a diverse and extensive list of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, procurement, service delivery teams and external advisors, as well as disciplined enough to ensure this information is recorded and up to date

Bonus points if you have

  • Start-up experience: Prior experience working for or partnering with a fast-growing start-up in the digital health space.
  • Clinical background: A clinical and/or research background (you do not need to still be a practising clinician), especially in weight management, endocrinology, diabetes, digital health and/or public health & prevention.
  • Public health or public policy experience: Education or experience working on policy issues affecting the NHS, and/or government relations work within the health sector in the UK.
  • You have successfully built several teams, and have previously managed a span of greater than five (5) team members, and/or teams of teams
