THE ROLE:

The Prudential Risk Senior Manager will be responsible for assisting the CRO in overseeing the bank’s prudential risks, which include capital, liquidity and funding, and partnering Finance and Treasury to ensure that effective controls are in place to identify, manage, and monitor those risks.


This is a second-line role reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), partnering the CFO area and identifying and managing risks associated with DF Capital’s strategy and business plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The ideal candidate will have had exposure to both capital and liquidity, but someone with strong, practical experience of only one of these should not be but off, as the CRO has strong technical experience and is willing to coach the candidate if they possess independent thinking, a can do attitude and want to positively contribute to the business. The role offers broad exposure to entities, issues and both working capital and consumer finance. Duties include:


·       2LOD oversight of capital, liquidity and funding risk;

·       Supporting the implementation, embedding, and continuous development of DF Capital’s Risk Management Framework;

·       Contributing to the definition and ongoing calibration of capital, liquidity and IRRBB risk appetites;

·       Second line review and challenge of the firm’s ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, Resolution Pack, and the bank and retail entities’ Solvent Wind-down Plans;

·       Supporting horizon scanning of emerging risks;

·       Leading the second line review and challenge of regulatory reporting;

·       Monitoring new developments in prudential regulation;

  • Assisting with the design, documentation, and operation of second line oversight processes that support the Risk Management Framework;
  • Supporting the preparation of reports detailing key findings from second line reviews, any systemic risk issues and common themes, and prescribing appropriate, relevant and pragmatic corrective actions; and

·       Preparing and developing second line risk and compliance Management Information (MI) including regular reporting to senior management and committees, such as on risk appetite monitoring.


Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of prudential risk management and prudential regulation (PRA);
  • Experience of drafting or reviewing an ICAAP or ILAAP;
  • Experience working in a risk function at a bank or relevant consultancy experience or experience working at the regulator;
  • Highly numerate, with strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills, including strong Excel skills;
  • Ability to think creatively, problem solver;
  • Strong planning and organisational skills;
  • Ability to communicate your ideas clearly through presentations and risk reports.
