Generating large amounts of biomedical data has become relatively straightforward. The challenge now is finding, accessing and analysing this sensitive data stored across thousands of disconnected locations. It is frustrating and painfully difficult for researchers.

Lifebit has created a patented, federated technology that brings analysis and computation to where data resides. This enables researchers to run analyses on multiple, distributed datasets in-situ, avoiding the risky movement of highly-sensitive data.

Lifebit powers pioneers in national precision medicine such as Genomics England (UK Government) and guides them on how to make their valuable data usable securely. Biotech and pharma leaders like Boehringer Ingelheim turn to Lifebit to connect them to this otherwise locked up data to obtain novel therapeutic insights.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Lifebit’s Marketing team and excel in the delivery of successful tenders, proposals and bids (procurement submissions) as well as responses to pre-market engagements. As a Proposal Writer, you will be accountable for assessing procurement submission requirements, understanding customer needs, and developing and writing responses that are accurate, concise and in line with the strategic goals of the company. A critical component of this position is your ability to work with focus and poise within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and complex environment in which close collaboration and continuous communication are critical.

In addition to the above, your broad responsibilities will include the following:

• Work with key stakeholders (e.g., sales, solution specialists, product subject matter experts) to develop, write and articulate the proposed solution
• Develop proposal/RFP strategies that result in high-quality, compliant, competitive, and compelling submissions
• Proactively identify new opportunities by tracking known portals and conducting searches for new proposals
• Understand and incorporate sales strategy, value propositions, and key win themes into responses
• Maintain a knowledgebase of proposal content; customise text as needed to provide compliant, responsive and winning answers
• Adhere to established proposal processes and defined roles / responsibilities throughout proposal development, including content capture process for new content and edited records
• Work with the marketing team to ensure consistency of key messages
• Contribute to proposed development and implementation of process improvements and writing models
• Develop deep familiarity with Lifebit’s software and how it can be used to solve a wide range of applications in genomics and life sciences
• Manage multiple projects with a sensitivity to tight deadlines and to working in a collaborative group environment

Requirements

We are looking for a Proposal Writer who has: 

• At least 1 full year of work experience managing proposals and delivering them from start to finish 
• BSc in a relevant subject, ideally MSc or PhD from a scientific field with grant writing experience is highly preferred
• Experience within the healthcare/biotech industry or for a software company is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with experience working as part of a team to complete complex and time-sensitive projects
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and complex environment, proactively seeking guidance on complex tasks, as needed
• Analytical / critical-thinking skills for understanding complex product offerings and value propositions and defining them in succinct, persuasive written responses
• Strong written English language skills
• Certification from the Association for Proposals Management Professionals (or equivalent certificate in proposals management best practice) will be considered a plus
• Competent in Google Suite (i.e. Slides, Docs, Spreadsheet) or MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
