The Role:

We’re looking for a highly organised and motivated self-starter to join the Strategic Delivery and Partnerships Team as a Project Manager.

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of high-priority business growth initiatives such as product launches, exchange onboardings and new trading strategies. They will own and develop our internal project life cycle and related processes. The Project Manager collaborates with technology programme management to enforce, tailor, and develop the framework for making and delivering project decisions. They will support business users with this process, educate them and develop it with the necessary stakeholders. The project manager will also oversee and drive improvements to key business processes, such as trader onboarding and exchange notifications, while encouraging good documentation and cross-functional collaboration. They will have the opportunity to work with teams across the business, gaining exposure to technology, trading, and support teams. 

The Project Manager helps support the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of business information to support strategic decision making, including reporting to ExCo. 

It is a full-time permanent role and remuneration comprises an annual base salary depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus.


Role Specifications: 

  • Work with the Strategic Delivery and Partnership lead to understand global business strategy and ensure alignment with trading objectives;
  • End-to-end project management of business expansion projects as defined in the Global Trading Business Plan;
  • Develop and adapt the framework for how project decisions are made; consider all project variables like project size, project type and complexity;
  • Manage and tailor the Jira workflow to fit with project governance requirements;
  • Understand technical, industry, regulatory, trading and business operations details and their impact to support business decision making & effect change, improvement and growth;
  • Foster communication and collaboration with support, trading, development & operational teams globally across the organisation;
  • Build and maintain excellent internal relationships across all support, trading, development & operational teams;
  • Track project costs, escalate risks, produce project reports and enforce post-project review
  • Uphold accurate project and process documentation.    

Candidate Specifications:

  • 3- 5 years’ experience gained within a proprietary trading firm, investment bank, exchange, fund manager or securities broker;
  • Excellent knowledge in at least two of the following key areas:
    • Financial products, particularly equities, futures and options
    • Securities exchanges
    • Compliance & regulation
    • Market structure and/or market microstructure
    • I.T. operations and infrastructure
  • Proven complex project management experience, qualifications would be a plus;
  • Ability to communicate and reason effectively with key stakeholders;
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and decision making, and organisational skills;
  • Excellent verbal & numerical reasoning skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs/GDrive tooling;
  • Experience with project management software and project reporting using tools such as Jira, Confluence or Smartsheet would be beneficial;
  • Undergraduate Degree with a minimum 2.1 grade or equivalent.
