Description
About Starling Bank

At Starling, we are on a mission to provide people with a fairer, smarter, and more human alternative to traditional banks. We are building a leading digital bank, driven by fast technology, fair service, and honest values. Our vision is to create a banking industry that serves everyone, which we accomplish by developing best-in-class proprietary technology, offering an exceptional customer experience, and establishing a strong, sustainable business.

Our five core values – Listen, Keep It Simple, Do The Right Thing, Own It, and Aim for Greatness – are at the heart of everything we do, guiding our strategy and shaping our culture. We're a branchless, largely paperless bank, committed to responsible banking, sustainability, and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

The Opportunity: Join Our Enterprise Change Team

The Enterprise Change team plays a pivotal role in delivering Starling's strategic objectives. We are seeking two dynamic and experienced Project Managers to lead and manage a portfolio of critical business and technology initiatives. These roles present a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our growth and to help us continue to redefine banking.

You will be accountable for the comprehensive delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while upholding Starling's values and customer-centric approach.

Location: London / Cardiff / Southampton (with travel to offices as required)

Reporting to: Director of Enterprise Change

Closing Date: Monday 23rd June, 12pm

What You'll Do

As a Project Manager in the Enterprise Change team, your responsibilities will include:

Effective communication and influencing skills are paramount.
  • Planning and Execution: Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies. You will proactively track progress against key milestones, identify and manage risks and issues, and ensure the timely resolution of these matters.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Continuously monitoring project risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies, and ensuring that all project activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and Starling's risk appetite. This is especially important in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Financial Management: Monitoring and controlling project budgets, tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring projects deliver measurable business benefits.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Leading and motivating cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring effective coordination across interdependent workstreams are key responsibilities. You may also be involved in coaching and supporting junior team members.
  • Reporting and Governance: Preparing and delivering timely and informative project reports, including status updates for steering committees and portfolio leads, while ensuring that all project documentation is comprehensive and well-maintained.
