The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.

 

Job Description

Telecoms Project Manager to lead the delivery of telecoms systems across the station works, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective integration in line with HS2 requirements and stakeholder expectations.

This is a high-profile, technically challenging position requiring excellent project management capabilities, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of telecoms systems in large-scale rail or infrastructure environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of telecoms systems, including operational comms (e.g. CIS, CCTV, PA/VA), station systems, and trackside communications.
  • Manage interfaces with other disciplines (e.g. MEP, Civils, Signalling, IT, Safety, and Security Systems).
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and budgets specific to telecoms scope.
  • Coordinate with HS2 Ltd, stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal JV partners to ensure alignment with programme objectives and technical specifications.
  • Oversee assurance processes, including compliance with Network Rail, HS2, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Lead telecoms risk management activities and contribute to overall project risk assessments.
  • Ensure integration with Digital Railway and Smart Station principles as required by HS2.
  • Produce and review technical documentation (design submissions, method statements, ITPs, etc.).
  • Support the delivery of site works in accordance with CDM and other safety regulations.
  • Report progress, issues, and mitigations to senior project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Act as a point of contact for client queries related to telecoms systems.

 

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Telecoms Project Manager on major infrastructure or rail projects (e.g. Crossrail, HS2, Network Rail frameworks).
  • In-depth technical knowledge of telecoms systems in the rail or transport sector.
  • Familiarity with UK rail standards, Network Rail specifications, and HS2-specific requirements.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex interfaces.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality management systems (CDM, ISO 9001, etc.).

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward professional accreditation
  • Prior experience on joint venture or alliance delivery models.
  • Understanding of BIM, systems engineering, and digital delivery approaches.
