The Role
The Project Manager II has primary responsibility for tracking and reporting of project status, issue/risk management, successful completion of deliverables, and interfacing with other business leads / subject matter experts across the organization to support overall project efforts. This includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple or large-scale projects designed to improve organizational and operational effectiveness, including Corporate Portfolio Projects
- Oversee and direct all aspects of the project life cycle (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control, Closeout)
- Apply standard project management methodology / processes / tools
- Expected to become fluent in the operational workflows of Health and Medical Management, the clinical implications of the work and the implications on members as workflows are redesigned.
- Understand and manage the overall end to end process for HMM and collaborate with external divisions to ensure fully integrated solutions are in place.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Enterprise Technology processes to apply guidance and insight to projects
- Performs strategic translations between Enterprise Technology and Clinical Operations/Strategy areas including translating business needs into high level technical requirements
- Provide executive thinking to ensure vendor and technical requirements will meet the needs of the business
- Ensures Integrated Project Plans (Vendor, Enterprise Technology and HMM) are developed, updated and identifies gaps
- Leads multi-disciplinary project teams and manages the activities of project team members who are not direct reports and work throughout the division
- Develops project related deliverables including project plans, process workflow diagrams, risk mitigation plans, and contingency plans
- Manages status reporting processes and communications for all stakeholders
- Integrate business functional content expertise among the project team; seek out the participation of organizational subject matter experts, as needed
- Solicit input from internal customers/stakeholders, including both clinical leaders and supporting associates from external departments, in developing implementation plans
- Ensure completion of on-time, high quality deliverables to achieve targeted project outcomes / milestones
- Identify, mitigate / resolve, escalate risks and issues
- Ensure Scope Management, prepare project scope change requests, as needed
- Manage and provide feedback to assigned Project Leads, as needed
- Identify and apply lessons learned to support continuous improvement efforts
Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in leading all aspects of project life cycle, such as: business case development, communication plan development, work plan development and maintenance, team management, resource planning, status reporting, issue/risk identification and management, performance measurement (e.g., measurement and monitoring), etc.
- Effective verbal and written communications; high degree of initiative; team player; results oriented; willingness to get the job done
- Ability to effectively communicate with associates at all levels of the organization
- Excellent presentation skills (large and small audiences)
- Demonstrated process improvement and project/operations management experience
- Ability to effectively plan and facilitate organized, productive meetings/workgroups
- Ability to work independently and resolve complex issues with minimal supervision
- Strong PC skills including proficiency in use of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Access
- Strong Project Management skills (e.g., MS Project, Budget/Resource/Timeline Estimating, process mapping, etc.)
- Knowledge of BCBSMA products and services, and a broad understanding of the health care industry
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Post Graduate Education a plus
- 7+ years professional business experience preferred in project management within healthcare
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification a plus

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
