Lead end-to-end Energy Trading transformation programmes that deliver measurable business value across trading, operations, risk, and technology functions.

The Role

Capco is seeking experienced Senior Project Managers to lead strategic and operational change initiatives within leading Energy Trading organisations.

This is primarily a Programme Delivery role, suited to individuals who have successfully delivered large-scale business and technology transformation programmes within Energy Trading organisations. Whilst knowledge of Energy Trading is essential, this is not a Trading SME or Technology Lead position.

Working across business and technology teams, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex transformation programmes spanning Front Office Trading, Commercial Operations, Risk, Settlements, Data, and Technology functions. You will manage delivery from initiation through implementation, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives.

What You’ll Do
  • Personally lead the end-to-end delivery of large (£5m+) business and technology transformation programmes across Energy Trading organisations.

  • Establish and manage project governance, delivery plans, RAID logs, dependencies, budgets, and reporting activities.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects, Developers, QA teams, and third-party vendors.

  • Drive programme execution across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Manage stakeholder engagement, decision-making, risk mitigation, and successful implementation outcomes.

What We’re Looking For
  • Typically 10–15+ years' experience delivering large-scale business and technology transformation programmes within Energy Trading organisations.

  • Proven Project Management experience delivering large (£5m+) change programmes within Energy Trading environments, with personal accountability for successful end-to-end delivery.

  • Strong understanding of one or more domains including Front Office Trading, Commercial Operations, Risk Management, Settlements, Pricing, Analytics, or Trading Operations.

  • Experience delivering ETRM/CTRM implementations or enhancements involving Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Openlink, or similar commodity trading platforms.

  • Preferred experience within Physical Energy Trading (Power, Gas or LNG). Candidates with Commercial Oil or Financial Trading experience will also be considered where they can demonstrate significant programme delivery experience.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and governance skills with the ability to operate across business and technology teams.

  • Experience managing complex delivery programmes within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments.

Bonus Points For
  • Knowledge of nominations, scheduling, confirmations, settlements, invoicing, pricing, market risk, credit risk, P&L, valuation, forecasting, or trading analytics.

  • Experience leading cloud transformation, data platform, integration, analytics, reporting, or market data initiatives.

  • Professional certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM, Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent.

  • Understanding of energy supply and demand fundamentals, pricing curves, market data, and trading operations.

Why Join Capco
  • Deliver high-impact transformation programmes for some of the world's leading Energy Trading organisations.

  • Work in a collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial consulting culture where your ideas and expertise make a difference.

  • Access continuous learning, industry certifications, and a dedicated Business Coach from Day One.
