🌍 Who We Are

Wakam is a B2B2C digital insurer designing embedded and white-label insurance products for over 80 partners across Europe. Powered by our proprietary Play&Plug® technology platform, we offer API-based solutions and manage fully cloud-native insurance programs.

Operating in 32 countries, Wakam is a European leader in digital and embedded insurance, with a business model driven by transparency, technology, and impact.

We are also a mission-driven company, dedicated to “enabling transparent and impactful insurance” for all our partners.

🚀 About the Team

Join Wakam’s Data & Analytics function, working hand-in-hand with our PMO and business teams to deliver data-centric solutions that power underwriting, claims, policy admin and partner operations. You’ll sit at the crossroads of strategy, delivery, and governance—turning business needs into robust, compliant, and scalable data products.

🎯 Your Mission

As a Project Manager Data Business Analyst, you will own the end-to-end delivery of data initiatives—from discovery to go-live—while driving best-in-class governance and execution. In this role, you will:

  • Lead business analysis to translate business needs into clear, testable technical specs for data solutions.

  • Manage full project lifecycles (initiation → closure): plans, timelines, milestones, critical path, RAID, and reporting.

  • Run project governance: steerco prep, status reporting, escalation, stakeholder comms across all levels.

  • Coordinate cross-functional squads and capacity planning to protect scope, quality, and velocity.

  • Own vendor/outsourcing relationships: contracts, SLA performance, compliance with data governance.

  • Manage budgets & risks: estimates, tracking, variance analysis; risk identification, mitigation, contingencies.

  • Deliver with Agile when relevant (sprint planning, dailies, reviews, retros) and handle change control.

  • Onboard new MGAs/TPAs and continuously improve data quality & lead-time toward straight-through processing.

🧠 What You Bring
  • 5 years + experience as a Data Business Analyst Project Manager  delivering data-centric solutions in insurance

  • Certifications welcome: BCS/IIBA (BA), CSM/PSM (Agile); strong Kanban/PM tooling proficiency.

  • Depth in requirements, process mapping, stakeholder mgmt, and converting needs into deliverables.

  • Resource/capacity planning; vendor management (procurement, contracts, SLAs).

  • Risk, quality, and change management across complex programs.

  • Data governance & compliance (GDPR, insurance standards) and solid data tech literacy (DBs, ETL, BI, analytics).

  • Insurance data model expertise (underwriting, claims, policy admin; delegated authority/bordereaux). Snowflake nice-to-have; familiarity with Polaris or COTS bordereaux tools a plus.

✨ Who You Are
  • A strategic project thinker with a methodical, documentation-first approach.

  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates risks and drives mitigations.

  • Strong facilitator & influencer, comfortable guiding decisions and building consensus.

  • Data-driven, KPI-oriented, and adaptable across waterfall, agile, or hybrid delivery.

  • Collaborative leader with resilience under pressure and excellent written/oral communication—able to translate technical topics for business audiences and operate across cultures/time zones.

🌟 Why Join Wakam?

Make outsized impact in a European insurtech leader: deliver high-visibility data programs, shape best practices, partner with top insurers/MGAs/TPAs, and work with modern tooling (from cloud data stacks to agile PM).
