Job Description
VVB Engineering are a specialist in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, providing installation and maintenance services to various sectors.
We are currently recruiting a Project Cost Controller working within the Commercial Finance department. Reporting into the Commercial Financial Controller and working alongside the Project team, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance of individual projects. You will support Management by providing reports and producing accurate forecasting and cash flow data.
The position:
- Work with the Project teams to ensure the understanding of the specifics of the project plans and contract
- Ensure all necessary interfaces and processes are adhered to, including the application procedure, and provide all supporting calculations and documentation to the client
- Manage workload effectively to meet the business and finance deadlines set
- Control and challenge procurement and/or sub-contractor costs and investigate variances between forecasted and budgeted costs.
- Liaise with the Client/PM to resolve overdue applications, certifications and payments
- Liaise with the Finance function to provide information to support journal entries, to capture late costs, provisions and revenue recognition
- Communicate with the Project teams, ensuring all reports are accurately reflecting the operational and financial status of the projects
- Collate and compile project financial reports and monthly and weekly cashflow forecast information to present to the Finance and Management teams
What we’re looking for:
- CIMA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
- GCSE level educated, with A-C grades in English and Maths
- Three to five years finance experience
- Previous experience in a similar job role
- Adept in using MS Office programmes including Excel, Word and Power Point
- Knowledge of financial processes including forecasting and cash flow
- Comfortable working in a site-based environment
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business and non-financial personnel
- Excellent attention to detail
