What you’ll be doing.Working within the Research Microscopy Solutions (RMS) department, at ZEISS, we are looking for a Project Buyer to become a key player in our global Supply Chain Management Organisation.You will:

  • Take ownership of the supply chain for a cutting-edge electron microscope product line.
  • Work closely with expert teams in the UK and Germany, and with global suppliers.
  • Drive supply chain strategies for new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Negotiate contracts that deliver value whilst fostering strong partnerships.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Operations to bring revolutionary products to life.

  • Acting as the Supply Chain Representative for new product introductions and redesign projects.
  • Develop and execute innovative supply chain strategies aligned with Zeiss’s vision.
  • Manage procurement processes with precision, from RFQs to purchase orders.
  • Oversee engineering change management to ensure flawless execution.
  • Address challenges head-on and implement creative solutions.
  • Serve as the vital link between internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring seamless communication.

  • Solid experience in Supply Chain Management, New Product Introduction, Procurement or Project Management.
  • Advanced SAP skills and expertise in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication .and negotiation prowess.
  • A proactive mindset, with the flexibility to travel (10-20%) to Germany or supplier sites
