About the role

The Programme and Outsourcing Manager role involves overseeing the company's partnerships with Visa (or similar card networks) and managing outsourced services or third-party vendors. This is a strategic role that combines knowledge of payment systems, vendor management, and compliance with regulatory standards in the fintech industry.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensure we are compliant with all card scheme rules (reporting, settlement, requirements per programme - e.g. Commercial and Platinum) by becoming the in-house expert to all VISA requirements.
  • Clearly understand and map out step by step process to ensure we adequately describe all necessary steps to successfully migrate programmes from sponsored models to our own EMis and project manage these (from a Payments/Operations/Compliance org)
  • Ensure we adequately map out outsourcing and 3rd party relationships, highlight risks to the management team and any material changes in this risk (this applies to both internal and external outsourcing) - e.g. changes in risk appetite, changes in financial standing or any material changes in requirements (KYC/onboarding, prohibited transactions/industries, risk classification) to avoid damaging relationships.
  • Fully own day to day operational liaison with key providers namely Card scheme, Processor and Core Banking partners (e.g. VISA, Marqeta, LHV, CLearBank, JP Morgan)
  • Drive operational topics (e.g. BIN cleanups, configurations, tokenization, card fulfilment)
  • In-House owner of:
    • Card scheme compliance
    • Intra-group outsourcing
    • Outsourcing risks (intragroup and external)
    • Tracking stock of cards, cardholders, envelopes, designs approval
    • Owner of specific programmes in the domain of EMI, Financial and Compliance stacks, as per regulatory needs or company vision in these areas.

Requirements

  • Clearly understand and map out step by step process to ensure we adequately describe all necessary steps to successfully migrate programmes from sponsored models to our own EMis and project manage these (from a Payments/Operations/Compliance org)
  • Payments/Fintech Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in the fintech, banking, or payments sector is often required.
  • Specific experience working with card networks (especially Visa) is required.
  • Product/Project Management: Experience in product development, particularly related to payment cards (debit, credit, prepaid), is usually required. Familiarity with Agile or similar project management methodologies can be beneficial.
  • Card Operations: Direct experience managing card issuing, processing, and settlement operations is often required. This includes familiarity with the lifecycle of card programs (issuance, activation, usage, etc.) and industry standards for card program management.
  • Help manage key partnerships both on the Compliance and Financial stack (Visa, Marqeta, banking partners)
  • Experience with Outsourcing risks (intragroup and external)
  • Effective communication skills in managing critical relationships

Company Benefits

  • 30 days holiday paid leave
  • Competitive compensation package
  • One week exchange policy to another Payhawk office
  • Flexible working hours and opportunity to work from home
  • Regular team-wide events
  • Additional Medical care
  • Classpass
  • Opportunity to use the Payhawk product

Please note that unfortunately we cannot provide visa sponsorship, and to be considered for this role, candidates must be able to provide proof of their eligibility to work.
