About Us

MarketAxess is on a journey to digitally transform one of the world’s largest financial markets, enabling the shift from analog, phone-based trading to a fully electronic marketplace. Why does this matter? Because our platform makes trading fixed-income more accessible, ultimately improving transparency, efficiency, and competition in the marketplace. Changing the way an established industry transacts is no easy feat. There will be twists and turns, because no one’s ever done this before. But now, more than 2,000 clients around the world rely on our solutions, and that number is only expected to grow in the years ahead. We know where we’re going. How we get there is up to us. Join us and help Take Us There.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to partner closely with the Head of Infrastructure and support the execution of the group’s overall mandate while driving cross-functional strategic initiatives across the organization. In this role, you will collaborate with technology, product, and finance leaders to lead monthly, quarterly, and annual planning activities. You will establish forums to improve alignment across operational processes, lead and report on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and partner with senior engineering managers to synthesize their workstreams and delivery plans for key stakeholders.

This position reports directly to the Lead Program Manager for Infrastructure and will play a critical role in owning, driving, and implementing consistent program management processes across the team. We are looking for someone with strong program management experience who can navigate complex situations with a bias for action and exceptional attention to detail. Being viewed as a trusted partner and collaborator is essential to success in this role.

We embrace a culture of collaboration and experimentation, encouraging all team members to focus on continuous improvement and learning. We value diverse perspectives and individuals who are not afraid to challenge assumptions and existing ways of working—because that’s how we innovate, learn, and grow as both a team and as individuals?

How You’ll Help Take Us There

  • Provide thought leadership and collaborate with technology teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver on the team's strategy and roadmaps
  • Leading the team's strategic planning and budgeting process to ensure alignment with business objectives and desired outcomes, overseeing the monthly reporting and quarterly planning process for the team
  • Manage the cloud spend and budget analyzing the trends month by month
  • Establish and manage reporting and metric requirements for the team
  • Develop, execute, and validate processes that will drive operational excellence
  • Lead all aspects of the team's communication strategy and organizational change management efforts
  • Develop executive-level reporting, communications, and presentations
  • Facilitation and support of budget and vendor oversight and related processes, providing thought leadership to help identify and drive improvements
  • Lead the retrospective of the group's annual plan and quarterly Product Increment (PI) planning process and assist in prioritization.  Focus on areas to improve and ensure alignment across the group
  • Own the bi-weekly leadership team meeting, ensure meeting time is spent effectively, and that any follow-up action items are executed
  • Own process improvement for existing and needed infra processes

 What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ experience in a business and program manager role, preferably at a Fintech, high-growth start-up, investment banking, private equity, or similarly fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading and supporting activities related to financial management, budget analysis, and vendor management
  • Experience leading and managing activities related to workforce strategy, recruitment, and talent management
  • Will lead a small team; prior people management experience is beneficial
  • Experience utilizing models for strategy development, planning, decision-making, and budgeting within organizations is a plus
  • Data-driven approach to influence decision making
  • Strong knowledge & comfort utilizing technology tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Jira, and Confluence
  • High comfort level with rapidly changing and, at times, ambiguous situations with an ability to help craft a clear path forward
  • Excellent problem solver who enjoys new challenges and demonstrates strong decision-making skills and judgment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage up and across to get the job done without formal authority
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to synthesize multiple points of view, build consensus, and drive the next steps
  • Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess situations, break down complex problems, identify strategic tradeoffs, and apply learnings in a larger context
  • Ability to build solid relationships and work with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Commitment to confidentiality and discretion in appropriately handling sensitive information is required
