THE WORK:

Ripple Impact is helping to develop a more inclusive, ethical and sustainable global blockchain ecosystem by supporting education, research and technical innovation in blockchain and fintech through its university partnerships program, the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI). UBRI now includes more than 60 universities from nearly 27 countries worldwide. UBRI is the best program of its kind in the world.

Ripple is deepening its commitment to collaboration with universities, and we’re growing Ripple’s UBRI team. As UBRI Program Manager, you will play a vital role in building Ripple’s relationships and programs with university partners and to growing the global UBRI network. You will also help ensure Ripple employees are fully engaged in participating in our work with faculty and students.

This role requires in-person relationship building. Travel expectations can be up to 25-30%, depending on seasonality.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work with Ripple’s Senior Director of University Partnerships to ensure the University Blockchain Research Network (UBRI) continues to be a global leader in blockchain and crypto research and innovation.
  • Educate and align external partners on key technical and non-technical topics, guiding research efforts to drive technological innovation and address strategic and business priorities, as well as those of the broader ecosystem.
  • Provide technical support to external research partners to help ensure high quality and practicality of projects.
  • Ensure projects progress efficiently and achieve desired outcomes
  • Champion collaboration among partners with shared interests to align and improve the overall success of research and technical initiatives.
  • Work with RippleX on hosting activities that increase reliability, utility and adoption of XRPL, including features/functions and projects built on XRPL.
  • Provide technical assistance and help ensure the stability of XRP validators, in collaboration with the RippleD team by supporting partners, ensuring system reliability and operational efficiency
  • Work with various partners to plan and lead UBRI’s annual conference, and other events.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work across Ripple’s teams to identify and pursue opportunities to demonstrate Ripple’s core products and network to advance crypto-native services like payments, decentralized finance, stablecoins, and custody and real world asset tokenization (RWA).
  • Help find opportunities to use blockchain and digital assets to create positive social and environmental impact, including financial inclusion, global payment flows for humanitarian aid and tokenization of carbon and natural capital assets.
  • Help organize and coordinate requests for research collaboration and on-campus activities from university partners and help organize and lead UBRI’s annual conference and other, smaller events, as needed.
  • Work with RippleX to promote the XRPL Learning Portal, Hackathons, Ambassadors, Student Builder Residencies, Bounties and Grants programs to student developers.
  • Publish high-impact academic papers in collaboration with internal and external partners, showcasing Ripple’s innovative contributions to blockchain and FinTech, and improving Ripple’s influence in academia and the industry.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING: 

  • We prefer candidates with a degree in CS, IS or Blockchain technologies or equivalent experience, who have up-to-date knowledge to engage with partners on technical matters.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology and the FinTech sector, with the ability to drive in-depth collaboration with academic institutions.
  • Experience leading collaborative programs with an exceptional ability to identify, collect and synthesize data.Experience working well with engineers and technical product managers and other cross-functional teams.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly effective cross-cultural collaborator with global partners from a diverse set of backgrounds.
  • Additional subject matter expertise in corporate-university partnerships / higher education and/or participation on a student blockchain club a plus.
